Region of Peel – Peel Regional Police have made an arrest in a City of Mississauga bank robbery.

On Tuesday August 23rd 2022, at approximately 2:00 p.m., there was a robbery of a financial institution in the area of Derry Road West and McLaughlin Road in the City of Mississauga. The suspect approached the teller and produced a handwritten note demanding money.  The teller complied and turned over a quantity of Canadian currency. The suspect exited the bank and was seen fleeing on foot.

Through a detailed criminal investigation and canvass of the area, which included the discovery of discarded evidence, investigators with the Central Robbery Bureau were able to identify and locate the suspect the following day.  The suspect was located at an area motel operating a grey vehicle at which time he was stopped and arrested.

The accused has been held for a bail hearing and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday August 25th 2022.
