மட்டக்களப்பு வாவியில் உள்ள பாதை வகை கலத்தின் பழைய வடிவம் 1865 இப் படம் 5க்கும் மேற்பட்ட பிளாவு வகை கலங்களையும், வாவிக்குள் குறைந்தது ஒரு பாய்மரக் கலத்தையும் காட்டுகிறது. இப்படம் தான் தமிழர்களிடத்திலும் ஐயவித்துலாம் (drawbridge) வகை கதவுகளைக் கொண்ட கலங்கள் இருந்தன என்பதற்கான வரலாற்று சாட்சிகளாகும். இது வரலாற்று முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த படிமமாகும்!
