"Celebrate Mothers" [அன்னையர் நாள் / Mother's Day / 11th May, 2025]

Mother are generally human beings great assets . If no mother , There is no human life - Even you and me - in the earth now! So in Sri Lanka and many other countries celebrate Mothers in mid of May, for example in 2022 , we celebrate on may 8 th and Next year, It will be on May 14 th , 2023.

It is so natural that ,We celebrate Mothers each year as the days start lengthen and The weather begins to warm up as Mothers lengthen their love & affection and Warm up their relationship with additional care they take against their own kids as well as generally all children of the world!

Here I am giving a real feeling of a daughters about her mother, whom they lost, without giving their identity, which they truly expressed to me & Others on her Anniversary which falls on June 8 th each year. just after mother's day !

Though Mother's day is meant for celebration, for both of them, It was a sad day. But they too celebrate along with all others, dedicating this to her mother, who built a foundation for a better life for them and encourage to study hard and achieve a better position in a society.

"In my heart, The god I pray is you

Mother is only my prime god"

"என் மனக் கோயிலின் ஊஞ்சலிலே

நான் வணங்கும் தெய்வமும் தாயம்மா

என் கண்கண்ட தெய்வமும் நீயம்மா"

"My Sincerity & honesty- is you

The life, I am living- is yours

You become flowered creeper with my pregnant"

நான் வாழ்ந்திடும் வாழ்க்கையும் உனதம்மா

என் தாய்மையிற் பூத்திட்ட பூங்கொடி நீயம்மா"

"My work & advancement - is your dream

your smelling flower- is my life

I need one more time- your womb Again!"

"என் உழைப்பும் உயர்வும் உன் கனவேயம்மா

உன் வாசனைப் பூக்களும் என் உயிர்ப்பேயம்மா

நான் மீண்டும் வேண்டுவது உன் கருவறையம்மா"

Yes, for them mother is every thing. For example, When I spoke with the eldest daughter, who is now a reputed dental surgeon, She told me - Though the pain of losing mum is so immense and even worse, While she was at the university, She continued studies without any sort of lagging, because to fulfil mother wishes and prove that ' I AM YOUR CHILD'. As per her:

My mother worked so hard to raise us as a good family. She always trying to improve and better ourselves in every way possible .For example, She always provide us with the best in terms of education, career and life, All in the hopes that One day she can sit back and enjoy the fruits of her labour. But unfortunately this was not to be for her.

But who ever know her story, Definitely will celebrate Mothers !!

She married at the age of 26, and become a mother at the age of 29, and when the daughter become four years old, She started to take more care about their studies and bring them as a good citizen. For example, from nursery to college, her intention was to select the best school possible, So that child will learn not only school subjects but also good manners. In addition them, She focused on extra activities such as swimming, dance, vocal, violin, veena, keyboard, typing, sewing ... , because She wanted her children to be a well rounded individuals. Though after married , she moved away from the mother country, She had all determination and high sprit to learn herself to read, write and speak English fluently , before become a mother and it helped her to fit into a new culture and new way of living , but without loosing her real identity too. So It helped her to bring us too in the same way.

Daughter continued and said that mother worked solid 5 / 6 days in a large charity organization, about four to five hours a day as a volunteer, in order to improve language and learn and familiar with new culture , But still she had the strength to be an amazing housewife and mother! Though her mother finally not put her feet up and enjoy the world and its wealth, After we all grown up and started to work, But, Perhaps, in some ways mother had done her duty and now She laid to rest and also mother have left enough memories for a life time which will forever blossom in our minds. Not only that, our mother was an inspiration and comfort to others , who celebrate mothers!!

Finally daughter said to me that She thanks mother for all She have given them and pray that She and other her children will continue to make mother proud!!

பண்பினை போற்றிடும் கற்புடைமை அம்மா - என்

அழுகையில் பதறி, சிரிக்கையில் மகிழ்ந்தவளே"

"I call you as "Amma" - is your blessing

I am Always your - hailing toddler

Your god gifted child - is me "

Mother's Day is a celebration honouring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. The origin of Mother’s Day or Celebrate Mothers as we know it took place in the early 1900s. A woman named Anna Jarvis started a campaign for an official holiday honouring mothers in 1905, the year her own mother died. Here too we will Celebrate Mothers, along with the daughter, who share her mother dedicated story with us, remembering her and all mothers!!
