பாகம் - 2 15.9.90 அன்று தற்காலிகமாக நாங்கள் தங்கியிருந்த இடத்திலிருந்து அடுத்த இடத்தை நோக்கிச் சென்றோம். இந்தப்பிரயாணம் சுமார் நான்கு மணித்தியாலங்கள் நீடித்தது. இதில் ஒரு மணித்தியாலம் நடைப்பயணம். காட்டின் நடுவே அமைந்திருந்த ஒரு பெரிய முகாமுக்குச் சென்றோம். அடர்ந்த கானகத்தினூடே ஒரு குட்டி நகரம் போல் அந்த முகாம் காட்சியளித்தது. புலிகளின் வைத்தியசாலை அரசியற் பிரிவின் தலைமைச் செயலகம் போன்றவை அங்கே அமைந் திருந்தன. அரசியற் பொறுப்பாளர் ரூபன் பெரும்பாலும் இங்குள்ள அலுவலகத்தில் தான் தங்கியிருப்பார். இவரது அலுவலகம் காட்டிலேயே அமைந்திருந்தாலும் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் உள்ள பிரதேசங்களில் எவ்வாறு அரசியற் பிரிவின் செயலகம் அமைந்திருக்குமோ அதே போன்ற அமைப்புடன் விளங்கியது. முகாமைச் சுற்றிப் பார்க்கப் புறப்பட்ட மாத்தயா அவர்கள் வழியில் சந்திக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு போராளிகளுடனும் உரையாடினார். க. பொ. த (சாதாரணம்) வகுப்பு வரை படித்துள்ள 21 வயதான போராளியொருவரை முதலில் சந்தித்தார். தம்பி உங்கள் ஊர் எது? ஆலங்கேணி. ஆலங்கேணியில் இப்ப எவரும் இல்லையே. அப்பா அம்மா எல்லோரும் எங்கே? அகதியாகப் போய்விட்டனர். எங்கே போனார்கள்? எங்கையென்று தெரியாது. பெரும்பாலும் முல்லைத்தீவுப் பக்கமாகத்தான் போயிருப்பினம். போகும்போது அவர்களைச் சந்திக்க முடிந்ததா? ஓம். இந்த வழியால்தான் போனவை. அப்ப நான் சென்றில் நிண்டனான். என்ன சொன்னவை? “நீ தப்பி விட்டாய் என்று சொல்லி விட்டுப் போனவை” எனக்கு யாழ்ப்பாண நிலைமைதான் உடனே நினைவுக்கு வந்தது. எத்தகைய போர் நிலைமை இருந்தாலும் தங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகள் இயக்கத்துக்குச் சென்றால் எப்படியாவது அவர்களை மீட்டெடுக்கப் பெற்றோர் என்ன பாடுபடுவார்கள்? அனைத்துப் பெற்றோரும் தமக்குப் பெண் பிள்ளைகள் உண்டு. இவர் ஒருவர்தான் குடும்பத்தைக் காக்க வேண்டும் என்று சொல்வார்கள். போராட்டத்தினால் விளைந்த சூழ்நிலையைப் பயன்படுத்தி எந்த நாட்டுக்காவது ‘அகதி’யாக அனுப்பப் பார்ப்பார்கள். ஆனால் கிழக்கிலோ தாம் அடைந்த அகதிநிலை பிள்ளைகளுக்கு வரக்கூடாது. இயக்கத்துக்குள் செல்வதனால் ஒருவன் தப்பிவிடுகிறான் என்ற மனோபாவம். வடக்கும் கிழக்கும் மலைக்கும் மடுவுக்கும் உள்ள வித்தியாசம். அங்கே சூழ்நிலையின் கொடூரம் மக்களை உறுதியாக்குகிறது. தொண்ணூறுக்கு மேற்பட்ட முகாம்கள் உள்ள திருமலையில் இயக்கத்துக்குள் சென்றவன் தப்பிவிட்டான் என்று எண்ணுகிறார்கள். யாழ்ப்பாணத்திலோ மண்போனாலும் பரவாயில்லை. மகன் வந்தால் போதும் என்றநிலை. மேலும் சிலரை மாத்தயா விசாரித்தார். பொதுவாக எல்லோரிட மிருந்தும் ஒரே பதில். வீட்டுக்காரர் எங்கே? தெரியாது. இப்ப எங்கே போயிருப்பினம் என்றுநினைக்கிறீங்கள்? தெரியாது. உயிரோட இருக்கினம் எண்டாவது தெரியுமோ? தெரியாது. குழுத் தலைவராக/இருக்கும் ஒருவரை அவர் விசாரித்தார். குடும்பத்தில் மூன்று ஆண் பிள்ளைகள். ஒரேயொரு சகோதரி. மூன்று ஆண்பிள்ளைகளுமே இயக்கத்தில்தான் உள்ளனர். தற்போதைய போரில் காயமடைந்து யாழ்ப் பாணம் வந்த அந்தப்போராளி திருமலைக்குச் செல்லும் வழியில் முல்லைத்தீவில் அகதிகளாக இருக்கும் தாய், தந்தை யரைச் சந்தித்தார். உணவு பரிமாறும் போது அந்தத் தாய் சகோதரியின் நிலைமையை மட்டும் அறிந்துவிடு என்று கேட்டுக் கொண்டார். தொழில் வாய்ப்பின் நிமித்தம் மட்டக்களப்புக்குச் சென்ற அவர் அங்கே என்னபாடோ தெரியாது என்று கவலைப்பட்டார். சகோதரியின் நிலை என்ன என்பதை இனித்தான் அறிய என்று முயற்சிக்க வேண்டும் என்று அப்போராளி அவரிடம் தெரி வித்தார். "குடும்பமே சிதறிய நிலையிலும் இவர்கள் போராட்டத்திலிருந்து விலகும்படி பிள்ளைகளைக் கேட்கவில்லை. தங்களுக்கு உழைத்துத் தர யாருமே இல்லாத நிலையிலும் இந்தச் சுமைகளை தாங்கிக் கொள்ளும் பக்குவத்தை அவர்கள் அடைந்துவிட்டார்கள். யாழ்ப்பாணத்திலோ சகோத ரிகளை கரைசேர்க்க வேண்டும். அண்ணன் திருமணம் செய்துவிட்டார். இனி குடும்பப் பொறுப்பு எனது தலையில் தான் என்று கூறி போராட்டத்திலிருந்து தளர்ந்து போகிறார்கள். பொதுவாக எந்தக்குடும்பத் தைப் பார்த்தாலும் மனைவி ஓரிடம், கணவன் ஓரிடம் தாய் தந்தையர் ஓரிடம் பிள்ளைகள் வேறிடம் என்ற நிலைமைதான். இப்படி இருந்தும் இவர் களைப் பொறுத்தவரை போராட்டம் பற்றிய தெளிவும் உறுதியும் உள்ளது" என்று கூறினார் மாத்தயா. எமது இருப்பிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிவந்து எமக்காக வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த உணவைப் பார்த்தோம். பாண், பணிஸ் போன்றவை இருந்தன. இவற்றை எங்கிருந்து பெற்றுக் கொள்கிறீர்கள் என்று விசாரித்தோம். நாம் சொந்தமாக பேக்கரி அமைத்து எமது தேவைக்கென பாண், பணிஸ் என்பவற்றைத் தயாரித்துக் கொள்கிறோம் என்றார் பதுமன். அப்போது ரூபன் “ஒவ்வொரு முகாமுக்கும் தேவை மரக்கறி வகைகளை நாமே உற்பத்தி செய்து கொள்கிறோம்” என்றார். யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் அரிதாகக் கிடைக்கும் மரக்கறிகளை அங்கே சாதாரணமாக காணமுடிந்தது. அடுத்து திருமலை மாவட்ட அரசியற் பொறுப்பாளரின் அலுவலகத்துக்குச் சென்றோம். மாவட்டத்தின் நிலைமைபற்றி விசாரித் தோம். மூதூர்ப் பகுதியில் மட்டும் ஆயிரத்து ஐம்பத்தேழு வீடுகள் அழிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன என்றார். எவ்வளவு மக்கள் வெளியேறி யுள்ளார்கள் என்று கேட்டோம். கங்குவேலி 180 குடும்பம் 834 பேர், புளியடிச் சோலை 125 குடும்பம் 502 பேர், பாரதிபுரம் 25 குடும்பம் 90 பேர்... என்று ஒரு நீண்ட பட்டியலைக் காட்டி னார். அகதிகளாக வெளிமாவட்டங்களுக்குச் சென்ற வர்களின் பெயர் விபரம் போன்ற பட்டியலைக் கூடக் கண்டோம். காட்டின் மத்தியில் இருந்து கொண்டு இவ்வளவு தெளிவாக புள்ளி விபரங்களைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறீர்களே! என்று வியந்தோம். நாளைக்கு எனக்கு ஏதாவது ஒண்டெண்டாலும் எனக்குப் பிறகு இந்தப் பொறுப்பை எடுப்பவர் எல்லா விபரத்தையும் உடனே தெரியவேணும் தானே. அதுதான் எப்படி எண் டாலும் எஞ்சியிருப்பவர்கள் மூலம் இவ்விபரங்களை உடனுக்குடன் தெரிந்து கொள்வதற்கு ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்திருக்கிறன்” என்றார். திருக் கோணமலை மாவட்டத்தில் யுத்தம் இவர் மீதான தாக்குதலுடன் தான் ஆரம்பமானது என்பது நினைவுக்கு வந்தது. அந்தத் தாக்குதலில் இவருடன் கூடச் சென்ற இருவர் உயிரிழந்தனர். இராணுவத்தினரின் துப்பாக்கி ரவைகள் இவரையும் துளைத்தன தற்போதும் முதுகில் குண்டு இருப் பதனால் இயல்பாக கடமைகளை ஆற்றமுடியாத நிலை. எனவே நாளைக்கு எனக்கு ஒண்டெண்டாலும் என்று தொடங்கி இவர்கூறிய வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டதும் என் கண்கள் பனித்தன. இதுதான் புலிகளின் பலம், இம்மாதிரி இயக்கத்தை கட்டி வளர்த்ததே புலிகளின் தனித் துவத்துக்குக் காரணம் என நினைத்துக் கொண்டேன். அகதிகள் முகாம்களின் நிலை எப்படியுள்ளது? என்று கேட்டேன். “திருமலையில் இருப்பவை அகதிமுகாம்கள் என்ற கருத்தை மாற்றிக் கொள்ளுங்கள் அவை தடுப்பு முகாம்கள்”என்று ஆரம்பித்து அவை பற்றி கூறத் தொடங்கினார் ரூபன்.
