பாதுகாப்புச் செயலாளர் கோட்டாபய ராஜபக்ஷவுடன் நேற்று நடத்திய சந்திப்பின்போது, இலங்கைப் படையினருக்கான பொருட்கள் மற்றும் பயிற்சிகள் தொடர்ந்து வழங்கப்படும் என உறுதியளித்தார்.

யுத்தத்தின் பின்னரான காலத்தில் இலங்கை அரசாங்கம் எதிர்கொள்ளும் சவால்கள் மற்றும் பயங்கரவாதத்தை தோற்கடித்தன் பின்னர் அடைந்துள்ள வெற்றிகள் குறித்து சீன தூதுக்குழுவினருக்கு பாதுகாப்பு செயலாளர் கோட்டாபய ராஜபக்ஷ விளக்கமளித்தார்.

[size=5]98 வீதமானோர் மீள்குடியேற்றப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் ஏறத்தாழ அனைத்து முன்னாள் போராளிகளும் முறையான புனர்வாழ்வின் பின்னர் சமூகத்துடன் ஒன்றிணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் அவர் கூறினார். வடபகுதி அபிவிருத்தி துரிதமாக மேற்கொள்ளப்படுவதாக அவர் கூறினார். நாட்டின்மொத்த வளர்ச்சி வீதம் 7.5 ஆக உள்ளநிலையில் வடபகுதியின் வளர்ச்சி வீதம் 25 சதவீதமாக இருந்தாக அவர் கூறினார். பாதுகாப்புச் செயலாளரின் வேண்டுகோளுக்கிணங்க, படையினரின் விளையாட்டுத்துறையை அபிவிருத்தி செய்வதற்கான உதவிகளை வழங்கவும் சீன பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சர் குவாங்லீ உறுதியளித்தார். பாதுகாப்புப் படையினருக்கான கல்லூரியில் கட்டிடமொன்றை நிர்மாணிப்பதறகும் அவர் உறுதியளித்தார். இது தொடர்பான புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தமொன்றும் கையெழுத்திடப்பட்டது.[/size]

[size=5]Sri Lanka and China have sought to strengthen their military ties, the Sri Lankan defence ministry said Friday.[/size]

[size=5]The remarks followed a meeting between Chinese Defence Minister Liang Guanglie and Sri Lanka's Defence Ministry Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, reported Xinhua.[/size]

[size=5]During the meeting, Liang said the political trust between the two countries has deepened with the rapid expansion of exchanges and cooperation in various fields.[/size]

[size=5]Liang expressed the hope that the two sides would continue to work hard to maintain the close and friendly relations and strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of non-traditional security. They would also work improve the ability to respond to crisises together, so as contribute to regional peace, stability and development.[/size]

[size=5]Rajapaksa said that Sri Lanka greatly appreciated the valued assistance and cooperation extended by China in times of need.[/size]

[size=5]Liang arrived in Colombo Wednesday for an official goodwill visit at the invitation of the Sri Lankan defence ministry. It is also the first visit by a Chinese defence minister to the south Asian island country.[/size]

[size=5]During the visit, Liang also had discussions with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa who thanked the government and the people of China for standing by Sri Lanka at times it was facing various challenges internationally and for extending cooperation in the fields of economy and culture.[/size]
