Dagbladet): Today is International Development Erik Solheim guest of BBCs prestigious debate program "Hard Talk".

The half-hour-long depth interview was recorded at the weekend, and presenter Stephen Sackur was particularly concerned why Norway meet and talk with dictators and guerilla leaders, as the Tamil Tigers, President Mugabe and the junta in Burma.

- It was tough, but fun. It is an honor to be invited. It shows that there is great international interest in the line Støre and I represent, where we almost always speak with everyone, "said Solheim, according to Ragnhild H. Simenstad, a consultant with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"Are you naive?"

- They asked, among other things, "Are you naive?", But I believe that the boycott often hurts worse.

Sackur (45), which has significant foreign journalistic experience, took over the traditional TV-program from veteran Tim Sebastian in 2006.

Sackur have interviewed George W. Bush and was the first to report about the massacres on the "highway of death" after the first gulf war, according to the profile on the BBCs website.

- No nonsense

He has also done one-on-one interviews with the French Prime Minister, Vice President of the European Commission and cultural personalities as Gore Vidal and Richard Dawkins, according to Wikipedia.

- There was no nonsense. The questions from the Sackur was direct and challenging. They had a primary focus on Sri Lanka, but we were also into why I have visited Burma and Zimbabwe and has spoken with both the junta and Mugabe, "said Erik Solheim on the meeting with sluggeren.

- I felt that it went well, and that we have good answers. But it gets the more people self-assess when they see the program, "he said.

Invited by Dagbladet's chronicle

The invitation to participate in the program should have come after the BBC had read the English version of E Solheim had the press in Dagbladet 27. March of this year.

"I'm proud of it today is a særtegn in Norway that we almost always speak with everyone. It has given us a special role in a number of conflicts, "wrote the Solheim there, before he Ramser up Sri Lanka, Nepal, Philippines, Burundi and Sudan as areas where Norway is in contact with geriljagrupper.
