தமிழக சட்டசபையில் ஈழத்தமிழர் விவகாரம் குறித்து நேற்று சூடான விவாதம்: எம்.எல்.ஏக்கள் மோதல்.

ஈழத்தமிழர் நிலை குறித்து தமிழக சட்டசபையில் நேற்றுச் சூடான விவாதம் இடம்பெற்றது. விவாதத்தின் போது உறுப்பினர்கள் ஒருவருக்கு ஒருவர் அடிபட்டு மோதும் அளவுக்கு நிலைமை மோசமாகியது. எனினும் அது ஒருவாறு தவிர்க்கப்பட்டது.

தமிழக வரவு செலவுத்திட்டம் மீதான விவாதம் நேற்று இடம்பெற்றபோது, ம.தி.முகவின் உறுப்பினர் (எம்.எல்.ஏ.) வீர இளவரசன் இலங்கைத் தமிழர் விவகாரம் குறித்து உரையாற்றினார். இலங்கையில் தினமும் தமிழர்கள் செத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அங்கு கொலை, கொள்ளை, பாலியல் வல்லுறவு என தினமும் சம்பவங்கள் நடக்கின்றன. அங்கிருந்து வரும் அகதிகளை பாதுகாக்கும் உணர்வு சகலருக்கும் ஏற்படவேண்டும் என்று அவர் தமது உரையில் கூறினார்.

அவரது உரையின்போது குறிக்கிட்ட, காங்கிரஸ் உறுப்பினர்கள் பலர் எதிர்ப்புக் குரல் எழுப்பினர். அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து காங்கிரஸ் உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் ம.தி.மு.க. உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் இடையில் காரசாரமான வாய்த்தர்க்கம் இடம்பெற்றது. ம.தி.மு.க உறுப்பினருக்கு ஆதரவாக அ.தி.மு.க. உறுப்பினர்களும் குரல் கொடுக்க சபையில் பெரும் அமளிதுமளி ஏற்பட்டது. ஒரு கட்டத்தில் காங்கிரஸ் உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் ம.தி.மு.க. உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் இடையில் மோதல் உருவாகும் நிலை ஏற்பட்டது. இருதரப்பினரும் ஆவேசத்தில் கையை மடக்கிக் கொண்டு குத்துவது போல் ஒருவர் மேல் ஒருவர் பாய முற்பட்டனர். அருகில் இருந்த உறுப்பினர்கள் அதைத் தடுத்து நிறுத்தி அடிதடியை தவிர்க்க உதவினர்.

இதில் காங்கிரஸ் காரர்கள் புலிகளைக்குற்றம் சாட்டியும், வை.கோ முன்பு ஈழத்துக்கு சென்று புலிகளை சந்தித்தது பற்றியும் வை.கோவைக் குறை சொல்லியும் மதிமுகவுடன் சண்டை பிடித்தார்கள்.

MDMK, Cong MLAs lock horns over Tigers

The State Assembly today witnessed anxious moments when the MDMK and Congress MLAs almost came to blows over the LTTE issue.

Taking part in the discussion on the general budget, MDMK MLA Veera Ilavarasan made a reference to the ethnic issue in Lanka.

He said, 'we should lend a helping hand to those who are brutally killed in the neighbouring Island nation but should also ensure that it doesn't disturb the peace and tranquility in Tamilnadu'.

However his remarks evoked protests from Congress MLAs Thottiyam Rajasekaharan and Polur Varadhan.

Intervening, Thottiyam Rajasekharan said, 'there should not be a double standard in fighting terrorism. We lost former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to the evil act of terrorists. We should not tolerate those speaking for such terror outfits'.

However PMK MLA Velmurugan said 'supporting the cause of Lankan Tamils does not necessarily mean supporting the terrorist outfits'.

All hell broke loose when Polur Varadhan hurled a charge against MDMK leader Vaiko that he was trying to intimidate Tamilnadu with LTTE, an organisation which has posed a challenge to the sovereignty of the country.

This lead to loud protests from the MDMK members who rushed towards the Congress MLAs and picked up an argument with them.

Speaker T Avudaiyappan urged the members to take to their seats and continue the business.

Congress MLA D Sudharsanam said, 'we should help those suffering in the neighbouring country. Our former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had initiated several measures towards this cause. In contrast, Vaiko made a secret visit to meet LTTE leaders and complicated the whole issue'.

The remarks again led to loud protest from MDMK MLAs and they were joined by the AIADMK MLAs.

Veera Ilavarasan clarified that though his party had been supporting the cause of Tamils, there was no single instance in the past when it had supported any of the violent acts.
