At least 10 killed in bus explosion in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 civilians were killed and many people were injured when a bus was attacked by Tamil Tiger rebels in Sri Lanka's northeastern Welioya area Monday afternoon, defense officials said.

Officials from the Media Center for National Security said the bus was caught in a claymore mine attack at around 3:40 p.m. (1010GMT).

LTTE brutalism continues; a civilian bus attacked in Ethavatunuwawa

LTTE terrorists have detonated a roadside bomb targeting a civilian bus in the Ethavatunuwawa area short while ago (February 4). According to the available information, a bus plying from Anuradhapura to Jankapura has been targeted close to the "Kobbakaduwa Junction" around 4.p.m.

Several people have been killed and many injured in the explosion. More information will follow...
