Were PM’s & Port Minister’s tours to Japan for ‘Exposition of relics’ organized by racketeers to smuggle humans?

human trafficking.gif The "Exposition of Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha" said to have been held under the patronage of the Sri Lankan Government from 5th to 10th September at the Royal Grand Hall of Buddhism in Kobe has really been an exercise in human smuggling. Interested parties in Sri Lanka government got the mega-show organized by Nenbhitshushu Buddhist Sect in Kobe. Japanese media had indicated that the event was being held under the patronage of the Sri Lankan Government.

According to advertisements the event has been organized under the patronage of the Sri Lankan Government and the organizers had obtained special messages from President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Maha Nayakes as well. A costly two-page advertisement in ‘Yomiuro Shimbun,’ one of Japan's leading newspapers had stated that the event was an "Exposition of Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha from Sri Lanka."

Now it has come to light that Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake’s and Ports Minister Chamal Rajapaksa’s tours to Japan were arranged to carry out the human smuggling operation and other rackets.

However, the racket was busted when Ven. P. Vijitha, a Buddhist monk who had been on the blacklist for illegal entry into Japan and was part of the 20-member delegation that arrived in Osaka with Minister Chamal Rajapaksa was detained at the airport by Japanese immigration officers and deported to Sri Lanka on the next available flight. Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake was delayed at Narita Airport in Japan for more than half an hour as he was questioned and his finger prints were taken.

The claim by organizers of the event that the exposition was of the Buddha's relics (Sarvajjna dhatu) that were in the possession of a temple in Pelmadulla too has been contradicted by Archaelogy Chief Dr. Senarath Dissanayake who says there is no confirmation that Pelmadulla Viharaya has Buddha relics. Meanwhile, Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs Chandraperuma Gamage has said they were not involved in the event.

The organizers of the exposition had asked Sri Lanka's Ambassador in Japan, Jayantha Palipane to issue a message stating the event was held under the patronage of Sri Lanka government and stating that Kobe temple was “the 'spiritual centre of the 370 million Buddhists worldwide.” Ambassador Palipane is reported to have refused to permit the message to be published the way it had been drafted. A letter sent by Ven. Getamanne Gunananda, coordinating secretary to the President, to Pamela Deen, Additional Secretary to the Foreign Ministry, states that the event is being organized “on the advice of the President” at “state level” and has requested her to urge the ambassador to comply with the request of the Kobe organizers to issue the message. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expelled Ambassador Jayanthe Palipane and recalled him immediately.

According to reports a relative of the highest person in the government is working as a used car dealer in Yokohama area and many have questioned why the Prime Minister has been in Japan with "bodyparts" car dealers and "vehicle exporters" in robes.

They have claimed that PM had been in the company of the Sri Lankan owner of ‘lionroyale’ and had visited temples in Tokyo. They also claim that seven members of PM’s delegation were deported by Japanese authorities.

The racketeers operating in Japan, who have connections with very high authorities in the Sri Lankan government need more hands to work for them in Japan and hae been involved in human trafficking point out these sources.
