Devotees urge Undiyalaan to publish accounts

Demonstrating devotees of the Eelap Patheeswarar Hindu temple in Wembley, North-West London, called up on Rajasingham Jayadevan alias Undiyalaan, to publish the account details of their temple.

The peaceful demonstration took place in front of the temple premises on the auspicious day of Friday, 07 April 2006.

Devotees said that Undiyalaan attempted to turn their demonstration into a confrontation by attempting to stop them from distributing leaflets that exposed his crimes against their religion.

The leaflets claimed that Undiyalaan had a major role in the theft of several hundred thousand pounds from the unidiyal 'money box' and that Undiyalaan had turned the temple into a family ran, money making machine.

Devotees also cited a British Charity Commission report that called the temple a profit making company which made donations to political parties. Devotees said that they were never made aware of the fact that the temple was being used to fund a political party.

Witnesses claimed that Jayadevan had called the police to the site, and complained that the demonstrators were there to kill him and that they were on welfare payments and couldn't afford to print leaflets.

The British police who themselves had a read of the leaflets had deemed that it was the demonstrators right to voice themselves in a peaceful manner.

Further the demonstrators had provided the police with their employment details. Witnesses said that the police force had warned Jayadevan to not lie to the police just so that he can discredit the demonstrators.

Witnesses added that the police remained on the scene to provide security for the demonstrators as they became aware of the fact that Undiyalaan was a vicious character.
