ROTTERDAM -

Two men were arrested because they would have collected money for the banned Tamil Tigers organization. The pair was now to become known Tuesday arrested during searches in two houses in Zaandam and Nieuwegein. They were released Thursday, reported the national office of the Public Prosecutor.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) since 2006 is on the terrorist list of the European Union. The separatist movement fought for years against the government forces of Sri Lanka. In our country people previously sentenced to jail for six years for forcibly raising money among Tamils. Those cases are pending on appeal. The prosecution had sentences to 16 years in jail.

The ruling led then to frown upon both the prosecution and the defense of the accused. The court said the men free from membership of a terrorist organization. They have been sentenced for the continuation of a banned organization, because the Tamil Tigers on the terror list of the EU. This "contradiction" was the reason for the prosecution to appeal. Also lawyer Victor Koppe said that contradictory.

The research focuses on the organization of the celebrations of the Heroes of the LTTE in November, a according to the public annual event to commemorate the martyrs of the Tamil Tigers. Celebrations took place in Amsterdam and Nieuwegein. Reports and photos of them appeared on various websites of the Tamils. Raising funds consisted of collecting, periodic payments and the sale of merchandise LTTE as posters, calendars and DVDs.

The National Criminal published in the summer of 2011 a report front organizations of the Tamil Tigers in the Netherlands. It warned the detective that these organizations in our country at least 21 weekend schools would control, where children are taught in tamil language, dance and drama. The report noted, inter alia, that "the (young) children get drawings with pictures about the fight." The police said aircraft bombing run, ships sinking, shot people, dead people lying in a truck and houses on fire.

Incidentally, there are also Tamil private schools that do not meet the Tamil Tigers are related, according to the investigators.
