பான் கீ மூனிடம் இலங்கை பதில் அறிக்கை ஒன்றை சமர்ப்பித்துள்ளது

ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் பொதுச் செயலாளர் பான் கீ மூனிடம், இலங்கை அரசாங்கம் பதில் அறிக்கை ஒன்றை சமர்ப்பித்துள்ளது.இலங்கைக்கு எதிராக முன்வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள குற்றச்சாட்டுக்களுக்கு பதிலளிக்கும் வகையில் இந்த அறிக்கை தயாரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.

 

ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அமைப்பிற்கான இலங்கை வதிவிடப் பிரதிநிதி டொக்டர் பாலித கொஹணேவினால் இந்த அறிக்கை, பான் கீ மூனிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் மனித உரிமைப் பேரவையின் ஆணையாளர் நவனீதம்பிள்ளை இலங்கைக்கு எதிராக அறிக்கை ஒன்றை தயாரித்துள்ளார்.

 

இந்த அறிக்கையின் நகல் பிரதி இலங்கை அரசாங்கத்திற்கும் அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.இந்தப் பதில் அறிக்கையானது ஏனைய நாடுகளின் ராஜதந்திரிகளுக்கும் வழங்கப்பட உள்ளதாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.

Subject : Sri Lanka : The Observation Project and continued failure 

Dear UN Secreatry General,
 

Yesterday You were presented with a report by Sri Lanka on the progress of reconciliation since the end of war. And You were right to point out that Sri Lanka has largely ignore what was asked by the international community.And this has resulted in continued prosecution of minorities and their rights. 

 

The Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have released well documented reports on the current situation. And International Crisis Group has suggested that it is time for action. 

 

Please use your powers under section 99 of the UN Charter to establish a commission of inquiry into alleged violations of international law, should the HRC decline to do so or to task OHCHR to undertake investigations. And please establish a mechanism to “monitor and assess the extent to which the Government of Sri Lanka is carrying out an effective domestic accountability process”.
