Tamils ruled themselves before colonization and its time they reclaim what was lost in the past once again.

Since independence, the future for Sri Lankan

Tamils was of uncertainty. When colonial rules

took over the mother island, she had two children

with their own states and marked territories,

Sinhale and Tamil. They had their small differences

but the mother island took care of them both with

pride and love. She was a beautiful lady in the

Indian Ocean. She was called fondly with so many

names and even called the paradise on earth. She

was full of resources and charm. She never would

have imagined that this beauty and charm will

attract many friendly enemies to her soil in the

form of colonization. The colonial rules changed

the whole demography of the island mother. They

took her slave and when they left her, they made the decisions for her future

with the help of inside traitors. They called the new system ‘unity’ but what

they really showed was partialism. The sinhale people got more than what they

had before and the Tamil people were striped of everything and left in the hands

of the sinhale rulers. The majority Sinhala dominated government system, the

second class citizen hood handed over to the Tamils and the sufferings that

came along contributed to only one thing. That is they were collectively forced

to decide to reclaim their long lost fundamental right of self-determination and

also to realize that the only way left to achieve this right is by creating their own

state once again in history. Tamils ruled themselves before colonization and its

time they reclaim what was lost in the past once again.

Tamil Homeland or Tamil Eelam was conceived by the mother, the island of

Ceylon. The father of the child being the collective mind and conscious of the

Tamil community, who has suffered again and again, planted a seed that was

both strong and motivated. The baby was growing slowly but steadily in the

womb of the mother island. Since it was conceived and during the course of it’s

growing, there have been tremendous attempts by local and international

specialist to abort this child. It was staved, poisoned, it was surgically tortured

and it was even made to born prematurely. Every attempt was rendered useless

against the baby. Instead of getting weak or handicapped it gained more

strength both physically and mentally from all this agony and torture. Every

time it was poisoned its growth rate accelerated and will power strengthened. Its

resistance power and growth rate astonished even the hardcore specialists

locally and internationally. Even scientists couldn’t predict its behavior. The

baby started to attract more and more global attention. The father of the child,

the collective conscious of the Tamil people were watching with pride and hope

that soon this baby will be born, making their dreams of regaining what was lost

during the colonization era true. It will restore their dignity and long lost

freedom. A hope that was gaining momentum day by day during the

pregnancy.

Several internal and external forces were in full swing. They were against this

baby from the beginning and will do anything to get an abortion. The mother

island was and still painfully watching. For her this is the reincarnation of the

same full grown child she had before colonization. The tragic loss of this child

to the colonial rulers is still fresh in her mind. She was trying to protect this

child from the forces and the decision makers who derived their power from the

colonial rulers against her will. She wanted to give birth to this child so badly.

Then only she can regain her proud status as a mother for the reincarnated child

once again. She was robbed, harassed and even been forced to tell the world that

she had only one child when the colonial rules took her slave. This so called

child was not even originally hers. The child she lost to the colonial rules was

the child who made her proud and made her know to the world as a proud

mother. She definite will give birth to the child she is carrying now. She wants

her child to inherit what was his from the beginning. As a mother she is even

willing to accept her adapted child so that both can live side by side in their own

state and decide their own destiny. It is in everyone’s interest that the natural

cause be left alone to make its own way. Tampering with nature will lead to

disastrous consequences.

Now that the baby has grown to the limits, the mother has already started

showing signs - The signs of labor. The guns and explosions have become part

of the daily lives, the bleeding has started, the pain has increased, and blood is

running like water, the blood that was protecting “Baby Eelam” all along is

soaking the mother like a wet blanket. It is the blood of those 18000 souls who

have lost their lives to keep this baby alive. Her whole body is shaking,

economy and security of life has run into rock bottom. The security of life has

become vulnerable and survival to the next day has become a gamble. Those

whom had everything, was now left to fight like animals for their daily meal.

The forces against this baby continue their effort to stop this birth and in trying

to overcome their effort many more lives are being sacrificed day by day and

many have been made handicaped.

What will happen next? When will be the right time? Will it be a normal birth

or will it need a surgery. The questions are endless. But one thing is certain. The

guardian angel which is looking after this baby since the beginning will never

give up. It has protected the baby from every attempted sabotage and the

decisions it made for the baby has been always full of surprises and wonders.

As long as it’s protecting the baby there is no need for anxiety of worries. The

angel has tolerated more than it can digest. The collective mind of the Tamil

people are united once again as it was during the conceived days. The stars are

bright and the darkness will soon fade away, paving the way for a new dawn.

The gods were always on the side of the truth. The greatest and long awaited

event in history will soon unfold. The pain and suffering will be taken over by

everlasting happiness, delight and peace. It is delivery time. Let’s cross our

fingers and pray for a healthy birth. A history is in the making. The “Baby

Eelam” is about to be born.
