SLAF attacks Tamileelam Police HQ, artillery barrage on Ki'linochchi

Sri Lanka Air Force Kfir bombers attacked the Headquarters complex of the Tamileelam Police, located along the A9 Road at the heart of Ki'linochchi town Friday around 9:30 a.m. Three bunker-busting bombs hit the premises of the Tamileelam Police, destroying a hall behind the Police HQ.The main building escaped destruction as Ratha Anti-Aircraft Unit of the Liberation Tigers of Tamileealm (LTTE) fired at the bombers. Two of the bombs hit the nearby store of the Tamils Rehabilitation Orgsniation (TRO) causing damage to it. The attack comes after continuous barrage of artillery and Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) fire from 7:00 p.m. on Thursday to 4:30 a.m. on Friday, targeting the destruction of the township.

Air strikes were also reported in the Paravippaagnchaan suburb of the Ki'linochchi town.

The TRO store with materials for temporary huts for IDPs and food supplies was destroyed in the SLAF attack in which two Kfir bombers were engaged by the SLAF.

The re-located hospital from Mallaavi was functioning 500 meters near the attack site. The office of the Deputy Provincial Director of Health (DPDH) is also in the close vicinity of the attack site.

The windows of Vanni Institute of Technology (VanniTech), a high-tech educational institute founded and fu\ nded by a Tamils association in the Silicon Valley in the USA, shattered by the air strike.

கிளிநொச்சியின் இதயப்பகுதியில் ,ஏ 9 பிரதான வீதியில் அமைந்துள்ள தமிழீழக் காவல்த்துறைத் தலமையகக் கட்டடத் தொகுதி மீது சிங்கள வான்படையின் இரு கிபீர் ரகக் குண்டு வீச்சு விமானங்கள் இன்று வெள்ளிக்கிழமை கால 9.30 மணியளவில் தாக்குதல் நடத்தியுள்ளன. பதுங்கு குழிகளை அழிக்கும் "பங்கர் பஸ்ட்டர்" வகையைச் சேர்ந்த 3 குண்டுகள் தலமையகப் பகுதிக்குள் வீசப்பட்டுள்ளதோடு, இதனால் இக்கட்டடத் தொகுதியின் பின்னாலிருந்த மண்டபம் ஒன்று அழிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. லெப்டினன் கேணல் ராதா விமான எதிர்ப்புப் படையணியின் எதிர்த்தாக்குதலால் பிரதான மண்டபம் விமானக் குண்டு வீச்சிலிருந்து தப்பியுள்ளது. இரு குண்டுகள் அருகிலிருந்த தமிழர் புனர்வாழ்வுக் கழக களஞ்சியசாலையில் வீழ்ந்துள்ளதால் அது சேதமடைந்துள்ளது. வியாழன் பின்னேரம் 7.30 மணியளவில் இருந்து வெள்ளி அதிகாலை 4.30 மணிவரை கிளிநொச்சி நகரக் கட்டமைப்புக்களை தரைமட்டமாக்கும் நோக்குடன் சிங்கள ராணுவம் நடத்திய அகோர எறிகணை மற்றும் பல்குழல் தாக்குதலைத் தொடர்ந்தே இந்த தீவிர விமானக் குண்டு வீச்சுத் தாக்குதலும் நடந்திருக்கிறது.

கிளிநொச்சிக் கிராமங்களில் ஒன்றான பறவைபாஞ்சானிலும் விமானத் தாக்குதல் ஒன்று நடந்திருக்கிறது.

இரு கிபீர் குண்டுவீச்சு விமானங்களால் தமிழர் புனர்வாழ்வுக் கழகம் மீது நடத்தப்பட்ட தாக்குதலில் அங்கு சேமித்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த உள்ளக இடம்பெயர்ந்த மக்களுக்கான தற்காலிக தங்கு கொட்டகைகள், உணவுப் பொருட்கள் என்பன நாசமாகியுள்ளன.

மல்லாவியில் இருந்து இடம்பெயர்ந்து தற்காலிகமாக கிளிநொச்சியில் இயங்கி வரும் வைத்தியசாலைப் பகுதியிலிருந்து 500 மீற்றருக்கும் குறைவான தூரத்திலேயே இத்தாக்குதல் நடந்துள்ளது. மாகாண உதவி சுகாதார இயக்குனரின் பணிமனையும் இப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

அமெரிக்காவின் சிலிக்கன் வலி எனப்படும் கணிணித் தொழிநுட்பப் பிரதேசத்தில் வேலை பார்க்கும் தமிழர்களின் உதவியுடன் கிளிநொச்சியில் இயங்கி வந்த நவீன வசதிகள் கொண்ட வன்னி தொழிநுட்பக் கல்லூரியின் கண்ணாடி யன்னல்கள் இத்தாக்குதல்களினால் நொருங்கியுள்ளன.
