It has been one year since the government of Sri Lanka claimed it had ended its war perpetrated on the Tamils. We all know that an end to war does not mean peace, and this has not been truer than for our people.

Let us join as Australian Tamils to remember the thousands who had sacrificed their lives for a just cause, the innocent civilians targeted by the Sri Lankan State simply for being a Tamil and the thousands still languishing as second class citizens in that island.

Date: Tuesday 18 May 2010

Time: 6-8PM Venue: Amphitheatre, Martin Place

Guest speakers include: Hon. Lee Rhiannon MLC, Greens Party

Hon. Ian Cohen MLC, Greens Party

Mr. Stephen Blanks, Lawyer

We also wish to inform you that Hon. Lee Rhiannon, Greens Senate Candidate for the Federal Election and Hon. Sarah Hanson-Young, current Greens Senator wish to meet with Australian Tamils on 4-6PM Saturday 29 May 2010 at Homebush Boys High School. This would be a great opportunity for us to voice our concerns and requests.
