GO North American Tamils! Don't let this criminal escape !

All North American Tamil organisations and TGTE should use this opportunity to ensure Mahintha's cruelity is well shown to whole world!

A helicopter will fly over the New York skyline carrying a huge banner reminding the war crimes and genocide committed by Rajapakse regime when the President arrives at the UN on Wednesday, 22 September 2010.

Mobile signboards carrying similar inscription will be driven around the city –they will be seen by many thousands of people in the city as both land and air rally against his first visit to the UN after the mass killings of the Tamils last year.

Several Tamil organisations in the US are busy with their last minute hectic preparations organising the protest rally against the visit by the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse to the UN. The President is expected to speak at the UN on September 22nd.

A mega rally is being planned to be held on Wednesday 22nd from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM by the UN Plaza at 47th street between First and Second Avenues.

Hundreds of Tamils from Canada are also expected to attend the event in New York. A few Tamil organisations in Canada are working with the Tamil

organisations in the US in planning the rally.

A Genocide Exhibition consisting of hundreds of graphic pictures of the Tamils killed by the Sri Lankan security forces is also being planned to be held nearby.

Wide media coverage is expected to the protest rally as this is the first time the head of the accused regime visiting the UN.

There is also increased pressure on the UN Secretary General to use this opportunity to urge Rajapakse to support the UN Investigation and to allow the UN Panel into Sri Lanka to do its preliminary work. The Secretary General and the US Officials are expected to press for this when they meet Rajapakse on September 23.
