நேற்று மகளுடன் கதைக்கும் போது இந்த புத்த கத்தைப் பற்றி கூறினார், நல்ல புத்தகம் எல்லா பெண்களும் வாசிக்க வேண்டிய புத்தகம் என்றார், அப்ப விமர்சனத்தை எழுதி தருமென்றேன்.

This novel is a beautiful story that takes on the perspective of a 15 year old Ugandan
girl and powerfully describes the hardships many young girls around the world face.
Living in first world countries its easy to forget that not everyone is as privileged and
lucky as we are. 

I think its extremely important to never be ignorant of others
suffering or be ungrateful for our own luxuries. We should be grateful to worry about
paying rent when many in the world don’t even have places to call home, we should
be grateful to worry about our upcoming exams when many in the world cant even
go to school.

The author before writing this novel, had went to Uganda and collected stories of the
girls living there. Every single hardship explored in the novel is real, and is
happening to millions of girls around the world. Girls who want to study and finish
school are married at the age of 13 or 14. 

Girls who are abused by their father or husband are discouraged from speaking out against them. The words in this book are powerful, and show you that education is the most influential resource in the world. 

And everyone should have the opportunity to access it. Women’s rights are
upheld in first world countries like Australia and Canada, however in the underbellies
of third world countries like Uganda they are disregarded. 

I believe that every girl should read this book, its vital for us to be grateful for how fortunate we are, but also realize that its our responsibility to help those who aren’t as fortunate as we are.
