சிறீலங்கா பயங்கரவாத அரசின் இராணுவம் வெளியிட்டுள்ள தகவலின் படி நேற்று பதவியாப் பகுதியில் நடந்த மோதலில் கொல்லப்பட்ட 10 போராளிகளின் உடலங்களையும் ஆயுதங்களையும் தாம் கைப்பற்றியுள்ளதாக அறிவித்துள்ளது.

இந்த மோதலில் சிறீலங்கா பயங்கரவாத அரசின் படையினர் 3 வரும் கொல்லப்பட்டுள்ளனராம்.

இச்சம்பவம் குறித்து விடுதலைப்புலிகள் இதுவரை செய்திக்குறிப்புகள் எதனையும் வெளியிடவில்லை.

The military says it recovered the bodies of ten LTTE cadres together with arms and ammunustions following a clash in Padaviya, Anuradhapura. The bodies are to be handed over to the ICRC tomorrow.

Troops, Civil Defence Forces seal all routes

At least ten LTTE bodies were found by the troops following a clash between the military and the LTTE yesterday at Konkatiyawa in Padaviya, Anuradhapura.

The military said a search operation was launched on Saturday morning in Padaviya after a group of LTTE cadres infiltrated the area and attacked the Police and Civil Defence Force guard point in Konkatiyawa.

With the ten bodies, the troops recovered seven T-56 weapons, one Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG), three MPMG links and 300 rounds of ammunition used for MPMGs, 20 rounds of ammunition for other weapons, 3 kg of high explosives, four claymore mines, 20 electric detonators, 200 rounds of ammunition for 9 mm pistols, two hand grenades, six anti-personnel mines, 25 metres of detonator code and five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

They also said that troops of the 224 Brigade and the Army’s Special Forces operating in Padaviya continued with their search operation yesterday.

Meanwhile the defence ministry said intermittent gunfire exchanges were continued in the area since yesterday morning,

Ten LTTE

as troops further claimed to have sealed all 'way-routes' combined with the Civil Defence Force (CDF) personnel in the area.

“The LTTE group may have been given specific orders to infiltrate into the liberated areas and caused destruction to both civilian and military targets triggering a slow down of the military advances into the last LTTE bastions at Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu Districts,” the ministry said.
