This editorial was unbalanced. It is very difficult to have meaningful issues raised through our media, and the Tamils had little choice but cause disruptions if they wanted to capture public attention to a tragic situation in their homeland and wake up our do-nothing politicians.

The Star and other media would rather rave about a few deaths from swine flu when there are thousands of people dying at the hands of a brutal military regime in Sri Lanka that has expelled foreign journalists, NGO personnel and anyone else who might report on the atrocities in the Tamil regions. The media have a responsibility to hear the voices of the suffering.

முக்கியமாக ஒரு விடயத்தை குறிப்பிட விரும்புகின்றேன். அதாவது எனது சக ஊழியர்கள் இவர்கள் அனைவரும் கனேடிய வெள்ளை இனத்தையும் வேற்று இனத்தையும் சேர்ந்தவர்கள். அனைவரும் இந்த ரொரன்ரோ ஸ்ரார் தான் வாசிப்வர்கள். அது மட்டுமல்லாமல் அரசாங்கத்தின் அமைச்சர்கள் முதல் கொண்டு அனைவரும் இதனை வாசிப்வர்கள். அவர்கள் என்னிடம் கதைக்கும் போது கேட்டிருந்தார்கள் இந்த பத்திரிகை உங்கள் நாட்டு நிலைமைகளை எழுதுகின்றார்கள். ஆனால் பொதுவாக அதற்கு எதிரான comments (கருத்துக்களையே )நிறையப்பேர் அந்த கட்டுரைகளிற்கு எழுதுகின்றார்கள். ஆகவே அந்த திறமையான கட்டுரைகளின் கருத்தையே இந்த மாத்திவிடுகின்றதே. ஏன் பொதுவாக நன்றி தெரிவிப்பதாகவும் இல்லை. இந்த கட்டுரையை நியாயப் படுத்தியோ அல்லது மேலும் விளங்கப் படுத்தியோ எழுதுவதில்லை. அதிகமானவர்கள் எதிராக தான் கருத்து எழுதுகிறார்கள் என்று தனது புருவத்தை சுருக்கிக் கொண்டு சொன்னார். எனக்கு என்ன சொல்வதென்றே புரியவில்லை. ஆகவே அவர்கள் தொடர்ந்தும் இந்த பத்திரிகையை வாசித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள். இவர்கள் மட்டுமல்ல ரொரன்ரோவின் அரசியல் தலமை முதல் அனைத்து பகுத்தறிவாளர்களும் இந்த கட்டுரையை வாசித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றார்கள். ஆகவே நாம் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று அனைவருக்கும் இப்போது புரியும். எதிர்த்தரப்பின் comments (கருத்துக்களை )முறியடிப்பதற்கு நூற்றுக் கனக்கான நல்ல comments (கருத்துக்களை )பதிக்க வேண்டும். ஆகக் குறைந்தது நன்றி என்று எழுதினாலே போதும். அனைவரும் இந்த பத்திரிகை வாசிக்கின்றார்கள். ஆகவே நாம் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று உங்களிற்கு இப்பொழுது தெரியும்..................
