Guys,

June 4th is the European Election and as you may all know Jan Jananayagam is standing for the elections.

Jan Janayagam is running to become a Member of the European Parliament.

She will make sure that our voice will be heard, especially to rectify the failure of states to abide by the human rights agreements they have already signed up to - including, for example, the UN Genocide Convention, The UN covenant of the civil and political rights of peoples which includes the right to freedom from torture and the right to self-determination.

Not only will she represent the Tamils' sufferings in Sri Lanka but also any other people facing discrimination of any form.

It is essential that EACH and EVERY single one of us votes for Jan.

There are over 200,000 Tamils in the UK, however only those in London can vote for Jan so this means that we need not only us Tamils to vote for her but we also need the votes of Non-Tamils ..

The task of getting non-Tamils to vote for Jan is in our hands.. WE NEED to do everything we can to tell others about Jan and that she is standing for the european elections..

When you approach people, also tell them about the situation which has been happenin in srilanka over the past couple of weeks and also what is happening now aswell. Make sure they understand that everyone in power has turned a blind eye to the attrocities commited by srilanka and till today no one has been punished for this ethnic cleansing of Tamils by the government of srilanka.

Do let the people understand our situation and why it is important that we need the vote for Jan.

Everyone of you must have non-tamil friends, some of them might not even be interested in the elections, however they still have the right to vote so make use of that. Tell your friends that they really will be doing you a favour if they were to vote for Jan, as we as Tamils have suffered enough.. Explain the importance of each votes as everyday even now Tamils are still being killed in srilanka.

Those under 18 yes you cant vote but you have a big part to do in this..

Tamil youths we need you to get through all your non-tamil friends, explain them the situation in srilanka, tell them about all the innocent Tamil's being killed by the srilanka government, and tell them that Jan is our only voice and that we need their votes.. Im sure your friends will then in turn be able to explain to their parents the situation and vote for Jan... WE really need as many votes as we can here...

EACH and every single one of us must take this task very seriously, each one of us must gat least get 5 non tamil's to vote for Jan. Even go out of your way for that even if it is taking them to the voting centre do it as you are doing a favour for us tamils.. Guys we need to be united and together so that us as Tamils can live a peacefull life...

This election is important and we need to get Jan through by a LOT of votes, and making this happen lies with us so lets all do it together.. spare some time and do that extra bit to get those extra votes..

its OUR DUTY..
