Sri Lanka Army (SLA) Thursday morning launched artillery attacks towards Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) controlled Verugal, 14 km northwest of Vaharai and 27 km southeast of SLA captured Sampoor. Meanwhile, SLA troops that moved 5 km inside LTTE territory into Kattumurivu, southwest of Vaharai, have stationed in a school, following stiff LTTE resistance.

Heavy fighting ensued between SLA troops and LTTE fighters at Eachilampattu, 6 km north of Verugal, amid heavy artillery fire from SLA positions, according to LTTE Military Spokesman Irasiah Ilanthiryan.

Commenting on the SLA claim that LTTE fired artillery shells had hit a school in Kalllar near Mahindapura SLA camp, Mr. Ilanthirayan, denied artillery fire from LTTE positions towards the Sinhala school

Noted point is: Army moved 5 KM into Tiger Territory. Again we are loosing very important land from out Tamil Nation.

Are we in loosing war? Vakarai is a heartland of east and loosing that land is not coming under 'Tactical withdrawal' rather than 'loosing'
