Dear Sir/Madam,

Re.: – Mahindha Rajapaksa and his brothers plan to ‘Scapegoat’ Palitha Kohana and Major General Shevendra Silva in the name of UN permanent representatives.

Sri Lankan government war crime witnesses Palitha Kohana and the Major General Shevendra Silva are going to function as the Permanent Representative and the Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) in New York. Major General Shevendra Silva will take up his new post soon, sources at the External Affairs Ministry told Daily Mirror online this evening.

The former Foreign Secretary Palitha Kohona agreed to the Norwegian Government’s Environment Minister Erik Solheim that he would save the head of the LTTE’s political wing Balasingham Nadesan and Seevaratnam Pulidevan when they should obtain a white flag and give themselves up.

Major General Shavendra Silva was allegedly among those mentioned by MP Sarath Fonseka , the former army commander in a media interview where he had said that the former 58 Division Commander, Major General Shavendra Silva had received orders from the defense secretary Gothapaya Rajapaksa to shoot at sight LTTE suspects who came with white flags to surrender to the army during the final stage of war. Gen Fonseka spoke to the BBC Sinhala service on the telephone while attending parliament, said he would be prepared to testify before any independent investigation of alleged breaches of humanitarian law during the war against the Tamil Tigers – even though he himself was army commander at that time.

Both of them will make the job easy for the UN Panel appointed by the Secretary General Ban Ki Moon to investigate the war crimes taken place in Sri Lanka during the final stages of the war against the Tamils which ended last year.

What a good Coincidence! The panel is waiting and the witnesses are entering the box.

There fore, we request the UN and its Secretary General and the IC not to miss this good opportunity to indict the Sri Lankan government and its armed forces for the war crimes committed by them.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
