சிறையில் வாடும் போராளிகளை செஞ்சிலுவைச்சங்கம் பார்வையிட அனுமதி வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று இலங்கை அரசை கனடா வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளது. இலங்கை தொடர்பான கனடா அரசாங்கத்தின் நிலைப்பாடு பற்றி கனட ஆளும் கட்சியின் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுபினர் புருஸ் ஸ்ரான்ரொன் வெளியிட்டுள்ள செய்திக் குறிப்பிலேயே மேற்கண்டவாறு தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இலங்கை அதிபர் ராஜபக்ச பக்ச, இனங்களுக்கிடையே நல்லுணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தல், மீள்கட்டுமானம் என்பவற்றை விரைந்து முன்னெடுக்கவேண்டிய நிலையில் உள்ளார்.

மொழி, மதம் அல்லது இனவேறுபாட்டுக்கப்பால் சகலரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளக்கூடிய உரிமைகளை, சகல இனங்களுக்குமான அரசியல் தீர்வை இலங்கை அரசானது வழங்கவேண்டுமென்று கனடா எதிர்பார்க்கின்றது. இலங்கை அரசானது உள்ளூர் மற்றும் சர்வதேச அரசுசாராத அமைப்புக்களுக்கு இலங்கையின் வடபகுதிக்கு எதுவித இடையூறுமற்ற அனுமதி வழங்க வேண்டுமென்று நாங்கள் தொடர்ந்து வலியுறுத்துகின்றோம்.

அத்துடன் சர்வதேச செஞ்சிலுவைச்சங்கமானது புனர்வாழ்வு நிலையங்களுக்கும், முன்னாள் போராளிகளை அடைத்து வைத்திருக்கும் சிறைக்கூடங்களுக்கும் செல்வதற்கு முழுமையான அனுமதியை வழங்கவேண்டுமென்றும் வலியுறுத்துகின்றது.

அத்துடன் கற்றுக்கொண்ட பாடங்கள் மற்றும் நல்லிணக்க ஆணைக்குழுவானது பான்கிமூனால் அமைக்கப்பட்ட ஆலோசனைக்குழுவின் அனுபவ ரீதியான ஆலோசனைகளைக் கேட்டுப்பெறுவது அனுகூலமானது.

கனட அரசானது, தனது கொள்கைகளான சுதந்திரம், ஜனநாயகம், மனித உரிமைகள் மற்றும் சட்டத்திற்குக் கட்டுப்படுதல் என்பவற்றை இலங்கையில் நடைமுறைப்படுத்துவதற்கு தொடர்ந்து ஊக்கமளிக்கும். இவ்வாறு அதில் மேலும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

Thanks for your recent opinion on the above mentioned subject. And also thanks for your continued interest in well being of Tamils in Sri Lanka and the desperation o hundreds willing to leave on leaky boats with the help of smugglers. While the whole world knows the continued injustice to Tamil minority and denial of their basic rights, a few like you have the will to continue to talk and make a difference.

On the issue of war crimes committed opposing parties, UN panel is moving slowly, but in the right direction. For any reconciliation and permanent peace, a truthful investigation into the long history of violations/genocide should be looked into and a political solution is a must. Sans this, we risk more volatile path ahead in Sri Lanka.

Finally, like you suggested, our government must continue to promote Canadian values of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Sri Lanka.
