அரச சார்பற்ற அமைப்புக்களை வடக்கு கிழக்கில் இயங்க விடுவது தொடர்பில் ரொபேர்ட் ஓ பிளேக் அமைச்சர் மஹிந்த சமரசிங்ஹவிடம் பேசுகையில் மஹிந்த சமரசிங்க கூறி இருக்கின்றார்: நானும் அது தொடர்பில் கடுமையாக முயற்சி செய்கின்றேன் ஆனால் இந்த இராஜ பக்‌ஷ சகோதரர்கள் அதற்கு தடையாக உள்ளார்கள் என கூறியுள்ளார்..

அடுத்ததாக மஹிந்த அரசின் மனித உரிமை மீறல்களை நியாயப்படுத்தி தனது அரசியல் வாழ்க்கையை வீணாக விரும்பவில்லை என்றும் கூறியுள்ளார்..

அமைச்சர் மஹிந்த எதை எதை போட்டுக்கொடுத்தாரோ தெரியவில்லை. ஆனால் இவர் ரொபேர்ட் ஓ பிளேக் அவர்களை சந்தித்தது மஹிந்த சகோதரர்களுக்கு தெரிந்திருக்கவில்லை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Unfortunately for President Rajapaksa, beginning with his outspoken Sinhala Buddhist Defence Secretary brother installed as a public servant but playing politics he wouldn’t know (through Special Advisers of numerous sizes and shapes) to all others who are allowed to interfere in and are being sent around to answer accusations against the regime on war crimes and crimes against humanity, they keep blundering like clowns on a high trapeze.

Bungling it was, after two years and two months of stubborn and angry insistence “on zero civilian casualties” to have accepted, civilian casualties were near impossible to avoid in this war. That brought the curtain down on the whole “clean” show, performed for over two whole years. That proved the demand for independent investigations by the Tamil Diaspora and all international human rights groups, right and justifiable.
