Two of the six headless bodies identified

(May 3, 4.00 pm) Two of the headless bodies found on the 27th from the Awissawella Police area have been identified. One of them was a resident of Telangapatha, Wattala and the other was of three wheeler driver of Armor Street. Senior Superintendent of Police Wilfred Mahanama said both were Tamil persons.

The bodies were brought to Colombo today and one of the bodies has already started decomposing, the SSP said.

According to reports both victims had been arrested in cordon and search operations conducted on the day of the suicide bomb attack on the Army Commander.

It is also reported that there a resident of Wellawatta is among the dead and when contacted the police said a Jaffna resident had complained that his son who was staying at a lodge at the Wellawatta station road had gone missing.

IGP Chandra Fernando told the media that the heedless bodies were a result of clashes between two rival underworld gangs.
