வன்னியில் இறுதிப்போரின்போது தமிழர்களுக்கு எதிராக நிகழ்த்தப்பட்ட போர்க்குற்றங்கள் தொடர்பில் சர்வதேச விசாரணை அவசியம். உள்ளக விசாரனைகள் எதனையும் இலங்கை மேற்கொள்ளும் என்று நாம் நம்பவில்லை இவ்வாறு தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

நேற்றுமுன்தினம் ஜெனிவாவில் ஐ.நா. மனித உரிமைகள் சபை வளாகத்தில், "மோதல் தவிர்ப்பு வலயம்' ஆவணப்படம் வெளியிடப்பட்ட நிகழ்வில் கலந்துகொண்டு பேசிய தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பு நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் எம்.ஏ.சுமந்திரன் இவ்வாறு தெரிவித்தார்.

"மோதல் தவிர்ப்பு வலயம், திரையிடப்படுவதற்கு முன்னர், அறிமுகவுரை நிகழ்த்தினார் அவர். "நீதித்துறைச் சுதந்திரம், மோசமாகப் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில் உள்ளக விசாரணைகளுக்கு இலங்கையில் இடமில்லை என்று தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பு நம்புகிறது.

நல்லிணக்க ஆணைக் குழுவின் பரிந்துரைகளை நடைமுறைப்படுத்த, ஐ.நா. மனித உரிமைகள் சபையுடன் இலங்கை அரசு ஒத்துழைத்து செயற்பட வேண்டும் என்று விடுக்கப்படும் அழைப்புகளுக்கு தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பு ஆதரவு அளிக்கிறது.

ஐ.நா. மனித உரிமைகள் சபையில் இலங்கை அரசு வாக்கெடுப்பு ஒன்றுக்குத் தள்ளப்பட்டால் தோல்வியடையும். அது அனைத்துலக சமூகத்தின் முன் அவமானப்பட்டு நிற்கும்.

போரில் இழப்புகள் ஏற்பட்டது என்பது முதலாவது உண்மை. இந்த உண்மையைப் பகிரங்கமாக இலங்கை மறுக்கிறது. இப்போது இலங்கை உண்மையைக் கண்டுபிடித்துச் சொல்ல வேண்டிய நேரம் வந்துள்ளது என்று கூறினார்.

Another report nails Sri Lanka

After outrage over the chilling murder of Prabhakarn's 12-year-old son, and the Sri Lankan authorities' absolute denial another Human Rights report nails Sri Lanka with more war crime allegations coming to surface.

 

Now, The Human Rights Watch report claims that Tamils in Sri Lankan custody were subjected to severe forms of torture and inhuman and barbaric treatment by the Sri Lankan forces.

Taking into account 75 cases of severe torture the report mentions that Rape was one of the unlawful tools used by the military and police against suspected LTTE members.

 

While in one of the accounts, a woman alleged that she was raped just over a year ago in the Colombo office of the Criminal Investigation Department, another man claimed he was raped, beaten and hung upside down when he was 17-years- old.

But the Sri Lankan Government rubbished all the allegations as lies and rumours.

 

Claiming that every charge against them is fabricated the Sri Lankan authorities said that the allegations are beyond any criminal activity, designed to tarnish the image of the country, total blatant lies.

With tension and uproar reaching its peak in Colombo the pressure also increasing on India to demand severe action against the one responsible for the gruesome crime.

The Report comes ahead of US Resolution against Sri Lanka at the UNHRC for its alleged war crimes. The questions is, which way will India vote?
