மாத்தளை பன்னாட்டு விமான நிலையப் பணியில் இந்தியாவின் உதவி தேவையில்லை- இலங்கை அதிபர்

இலங்கையின் அம்பாரந்தோட்டம் அருகே உள்ள மாத்தளை விமான நிலையத்தை சர்வதேச தரத்திற்கு மாற்றும் பணிகள், இந்தியாவின் உதவியின்றி, இலங்கையே மேற்கொள்ளும் என அந்நாட்டு அதிபர் கோத்தபய ராஜபக்சே தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் இருந்து இந்தியாவுக்கு நேரடி விமான சேவை தொடங்கப்பட்டதையடுத்து மட்டகளப்பு விமான நிலையத்தை சர்வதேச தரத்திற்கு மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான நடவடிக்கையை இலங்கை அரசு மேற்கொண்டுள்ளது. அடுத்த ஆண்டு முதல் மட்டக்களப்பு விமான நிலையம் சர்வதேச விமான நிலையமாக செயல்படும் என்றும் இலங்கை அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது.

இந்நிலையில் அம்பாரந்தோட்டம் அருகில் உள்ள மாத்தளை பன்னாட்டு விமான நிலையத்தை இந்தியா கட்டித் தர உள்ளதாக வந்த செய்திகளை மறுத்துள்ள அதிபர் கோத்தபய ராஜபக்சே, இலங்கை அரசே இப்பணியை மேற்கொண்டிருப்பதாக தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

H’tota Port agreement will not be revised: President

• Says venture with China is a commercial agreement, will not be revised

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday clarified that he does not intend to revise the Hambantota Port agreement with the Chinese company, as it was a commercial agreement, but opined the security structure of the port may need to be changed to be in line with other ports in Sri Lanka.
