You may be aware, US, UK and Mexico are making a movement to address the Sri Lankan Issue to the UN Security Council. As a pre ordain, to the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations has arranged for a hearing on February 24th. Please phone, fax or e-mail to the following dignitaries who will be the witnesses to the hearing. The witnesses seem positive. Please submit your letters to them, politely but with compelling evidences. Give them compelling statements about the humanitarian crisis in Vanni as well as Vavuniya and your experiences. Dear all,

I heard about the upcoming senate inquiry.

We have lost family members, 10 of themkilled in shell attacks inside the government declared "safe zone" in Northern Sri Lanka. Many have gone lost.

We are shocked and very distressed that this happening to innocent civilians. This is Genocide and we need to stop before it is too late.

We plead that the Obama administration puts a halt to the ongoing atrocities within Northern Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan regime has denied access to NGOs, Local and International Media. This is very scary for us.

Please help us. Please use your power to stop the killings of civilians. Please let Sri Lankan Government know that they will be held accountable for war crimes and the killing of 2000 Tamils within the last 2 months.

Thank you,

Dear all,

re: Senate inquiry.

More than 300000 people face Genocide despite calls for a ceasefire. Women, children and elderly suffer extreme hardships. Hospitals do not have basic medicines, and even patients are killed in the hospitals. HRW called it "slaughter of civilians". As we told "never again" after Rwanda, this is an opportunity for us to prove that.

Sri Lankan government is denying basic rights to Tamil for well over 30 years now. First we need a ceasefire, then an international mediated political solution. Only US can make a real difference in the lives of Tamils.

Thank You all,

Dear all,

re: Senate inquiry.

US government is the leader of the free world who supports freedom of expression and freedom of movements as core values of democracy. In Sri Lanka both have been lost, and one would ask what is left in its democracy?

Most experts agree Sri Lanka commits crimes against humanity and violated international laws. Yet, “meaningful action” against Sri Lanka has not been taken. As a result, Sri Lanka is committing Genocide!

I hope this hearing places some immediate conditions on Sri Lanka to restore trust of democracy in Sri Lanka.

Thanking you,

Dear all,

re: Senate inquiry.

In 1983, after the well known Genocide of Tamils in the south, Sri Lanka then evacuated Tamil civilians to the North and East, pointing safety. Today, it asks, Tamils to come to South. We all can safely say that the security for Tamils is still in the North and East when there is no Sri Lankan military presence.

When Sir, John Holmes visited the Vavuniya camps for IDPs, their freedom of expression was prevented by a huge presence military personal. But, the truth was told him when Tamil MPs had an opportunity to meet with him. Simply there is no trust on the Sri Lankan security forces by the Tamil civilians who continue to kill youth and rape Tamil women.

I sincerely hope your inquiry will bring back dignity for the hapless Tamil civilians.

Thanking you,

READ CAREFULLY:

Sinhala supporters of the Governments actions plan on undermining the US Senate hearing by discrediting the senator and human rights watch representative!

Here is their plan: http://www.asiantribune.com/?q=node/15732

They plan on writing to members of the US Senate telling them that US Senator John Kerry and HRW Rep Anna Neistat are not fit for this panel because they know the truth and take a negative stance towards the Sri Lankan Government.

We need to support the US Foreign Relations Committee and ensure that this hearing takes place!

Email A brief paragraph or two (less than one page) to the following Senators of the Foreign Relations Committee regarding the following: (Dont forget to include your FULL NAME, city and indicate whether you have Canadian/US or British citizenship:

(E-mail addresses for All 18 US Senators located below in the discussion thread or available at http://foreign.senate.gov/about.html)

1. The Sri lankan government has banned journalists and media from reporting: What do they have to hide?!

2. The Human Rights Watch 45-page report issued Friday said the Government has been 'indiscriminately' shelling Tamil civilians: Why has this not been addressed by the government?

2. The welfare villages are a disguise used for 'concentration camps' holding over 30,000 Tamils without freedom of movement. This is similar to Hitler and the Jews during the Holocaust.

3. The Sri Lankan government has allowed mobs to attack the ICRC (Red Cross) office whenever they accuse the government of any wrong doing, so the ICRC is now being intimidated to not report accurately.

4. The German and Swiss Ambassadors in have been threatened in Sri Lanka for speaking out against the Governments current treatment of Tamils.

5. Hospitals have been shelled by the Government, and the Defence Minister Gotabhaya has said that hospitals are 'legitimate military targets' to SkyNews during an interview.

6. Government declared safe zone where civilians rush to are then shelled by the SL Air Force.

7. The New government declared 'safe zone' has also been shelled on february 18 and 19, killing dozens.

8. Lasantha Wickrematunge, A sinhala chief of the Sunday Leader Newspaper, was killed by armed men when he spoke out against the Government. Bob Dietz is specifically interested in this topic so it should be raised why the government has remained silent on this matter.

9. The British PM appointed a special envoy to the UK, but the SL government was quick to reject it and warned of 'severe repercussions'. The UK wanted to help the humanitarian crisis, what does the government have to hide?

ALL US/BRITISH/CANADIAN Citizens PLEASE do this. Sinhala Pro-Government supporters are planning to undermine the US Senate hearing. We Must not let this happen! The truth must prevail, by all means necessary.

Make sure you urge the US Senate that you are confident that John Kerry, Anna Neistat, Bob Dietz , and Jeff Lunstead, whom all have already been selected, will do a competent and accurate assessment for the hearing on Sri Lanka on FEB 24/09.

Please do not hesitate, this is required. If the hearing is successful, the US will intervene immediately in Sri Lanka and bring a cease-fire and free all the Tamils from the Sri Lankan Army's current slaughter.
