Why? : Tea industry is also a larger revenue maker approx.$ 1Bn in 2010.

What you can do? :

1. Create awareness, find Sri Lanka free alternate tea and recommend to consumers & traders.

2. Research on industry:

a. How many labors are employed?

b. Does this campaign affect their lives?

c. What is their state of life and political rights?

d. How this campaign would help their future?

e. How the tea business is managed in Sri Lanka?

f. How many companies are involved? Who are they? : A pdf document is attached feel free to use it.

3. Write to International labour Organization, EU, Russia, UN with labor rights issues.

4. Write to Rain forest Alliance, Who are they?:

"By connecting conservation to your life! The Rainforest Alliance Certified seal of approval makes it easy for consumers to know they are buying a product that has been grown or made sustainably. The companies who sell these products also make sure their customers know they are good neighbors in their communities, and that they take care of their workers and protect the environment."

The following is not a good news http://www.rainforest-alliance.org/news.cfm?id=tetley_tea. As we all aware Tetley is also buying Tea from Sri Lanka.

However, there are good news too: http://www.thesundayleader.lk/.

Please write letters to Rain forest alliance, Russia, EU and various sources who are buying Sri Lanka's Tea. Make sure to share your letters
