இலங்கைப் போரின் இறுதிகட்டத்தில் நடந்ததாக கூறப்படும் போர்கால குற்றங்கள் தொடர்பில் ஐநா மன்ற தலைமைச் செயலருக்கு ஆலோசனை கூறும் நிபுணர் குழுவின் அறிக்கை பற்றி இந்திய அரசின் நிலைப்பாடு எவ்வாறு இருக்கும்?

இந்தியா இந்த விடயத்தில் பெரும் தர்ம சங்கடத்தை எதிர்கொள்ளும் என்று கருத்து தெரிவித்தார் புதுதில்லியில் உள்ள ஜவஹர்லால் நேரு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் தெற்காசியவியல் துறை பேராசிரியர் பி. சகாதேவன்.

இந்தியா தன் மீதான குற்றச்சாட்டுக்களும் வலுவடைவதை விரும்பாது என்பது பேராசிரியர் பி.சகாதேவனின் கருத்து.

இதேநேரத்தில், இனப்பிரச்சனைத் தீர்வுத் திட்டமொன்றை இலங்கை கொண்டுவருதற்கு இந்தியா அழுத்தம் கொடுக்க வேண்டிய நிர்ப்பந்தம் ஒன்றை தமிழ் நாட்டிலிருந்து எழக்கூடிய அழுத்தங்கள் ஏற்படுத்தலாம் என்றும் அவர் வாதிடுகின்றார்.

'இலங்கையின் உறவை இழக்க இந்தியா விரும்பாது'-ஆய்வாளர் எது எவ்வாறு இருப்பினும், பிராந்தியத்தில் இலங்கை வேறு நட்பு நாடுகளையும் கொண்டிருக்கின்ற நிலையில், இலங்கை மீது நேரடியாக ஒர் அழுத்தத்தைக் கொடுத்து உறவில் கசப்புணர்வுகளை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொள்ளும் நிலையிலும் இந்தியா இல்லை என்பதையும் பேராசியர் சகாதேவன் தமிழோசையிடம் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார்.

நிபுணர்குழு அறிக்கை அதிகாரப் பூர்வமாக இன்னமும் வெளியாகாத நிலையிலும் அதன் முக்கிய பகுதிகள் ஊடகங்களில் ஏற்கெனவே வெளியாகிவிட்டன.

இந்த பின்னணியில், ஐநா மன்ற அறிக்கையின் அடிப்படையில் இலங்கை அதிபர் மஹிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ மீது சர்வதேச அளவில் நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதற்கு இந்திய அரசு முயலவேண்டும் என்று தமிழ்நாட்டின் முன்னாள் முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா வெள்ளிக்கிழமை கோரிக்கை விடுத்திருந்தார்.

வேறு பல தமிழக அரசியல் கட்சிகளும் இந்த கோரிக்கையை வலியுறுத்திவருகின்றமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

While it is no longer a secret that India heavily aided Sri Lanka's military, it is never too late to do the right thing. Resolving Tamil's legitimate political grievances would be exactly what India could do. Mahinda Rajabakse has the necessary political power to make constitutional amendments by which devolution of power can be done. In contrary, his regime continues to occupy Tamils' homeland with land grabbing and militarization.

This would also help India's long term geopolitical interests in this region as China continues its presence in Sri Lanka. I would like to quote on why US now wants Libya's Ghaddafi removed, "because they export more energy to China now than ever and that threatens the national interest of US'. With another 15 years that Rajabakse could potentially be in power may not also serve the best interests of India.

This is especially easy to believe when examining the genocidal deaths of more than 300,000 Tamil men, women and children, estimated to have been killed or disappeared.In 2009 alone, more than 35,000 Tamils are estimated to have violently or needlessly lost their lives. Because of the fear and desperation put forth by this, about 1.1 Million Tamils have fled the country.

The numbers are horrible, and include over 600,000 Tamil internal refugees (Internally displaced or evicted). And while this has taken place, more than 20,000 Tamil children have been orphaned and denied the possibility of living a normal life with their families.

And along with this, more than 35,000 Tamil widows.
