கொழும்பின் புறநகர் பகுதியான கொட்டகேனா பகுதியில் வசித்துவந்த சோலைக்கிளி ஜெயபிரசாத் (31) என்ற தமிழ் இளைஞர் ஒருவர் கடந்த சித்திரைப்புதுவருடத்தை தொடர்ந்து காணாமல்போயுள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கப்படுகின்றது.

கடையில் இருந்து சில பொருட்களை வாங்குவதற்காக கடந்த 15 ஆம் நாள் முச்சக்கரவண்டி ஒன்றில் சென்ற ஜெயபிரசாத் அதன் பின்னர் வீடு திரும்பவில்லை என அவரின் உறவினர்கள் முகத்துவாரம் சிறீலங்கா காவல்நிலையத்தில் மேற்கொண்ட முறைப்பாட்டில் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

வெள்ளைவானில் வந்தவர்கள் முச்சக்கர வண்டியை நிறுத்தி அவரை கடத்திச் சென்றுள்ளதாக அதனை நேரில் கண்டவர்கள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். அவரின் செல்லிடத்தொலைபேசியும் செயலிழந்துள்ளது என உறவினர்கள் தமது முறைப்பாட்டில் மேலும் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

The losing of collective sanity on an advisory report

If the Government of Sri Lanka had looked to itself in promoting a genuinely post war process in which the Rule of Law was given a paramount place in relation to the minorities as well as the majority, one need not have bothered about meddlesome interventions, whether by the UN or others. But has the Government done that? Where is the evidence to show that the spirit and substance of democracy is flourishing in this country?
