ஆயிரக்கணக்கான தமிழர்கள் நியூயோர்க்கில் முழக்கம்: பதிலுக்கு சிங்களத்தின் ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் பிசுபிசுப்பு

கடும் கால நிலையினையும் பொருட்படுத்தாது நியூயோர்க்கில் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் வளாகத்தில் வெளிப்புறம் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான தமிழர்கள் அணி திரண்டு முழங்கினர். மஹிந்த இராஜபக்‌ஷ மற்றும் இனப்படுகொலையில் ஈடுபட்ட இராணுவத்தளபதிகள் மீது விசாரணை செய்யவேண்டும் எனவும் சர்வதேச விசாரணை ஒன்றிற்கு ஐ. நா. உத்தரவிடவேண்டும் எனவும் கோஷங்கள் முழங்கியதாக கொழும்பு செய்திகள் கூறுகின்றன. இதே வேளை;

இதே வேளை சிங்கள அரசும் தமக்கு ஆதரவாக ஒரு ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தை ஒழுங்குபடுத்தி இருந்தது. ஆனால் ஒரு சிங்களவர் கூட இந்த ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்திற்கு வரவும் இல்லை ஒத்துழைக்கவும் இல்லை என சிங்கள நாலேடு ஒன்று கூறியுள்ளது.

மஹிந்த இராகபக்‌ஷவும் அவரது பரிவாரங்களும் மணித்தியாலத்திற்கு 45 டொலர் கட்டி ஹோட்டேல்களில் தங்கியும் முக்கிய நாடுகளின் தலைவர்களை சந்திக்க முடியவில்லை. இந்தியா , வியட்னாம்,ஈரான், நேபாள தலைவர்களையே சந்தித்துள்ளார். இதற்கு ஏன் அமெரிக்காவிற்குபோய் மணிக்கு 45 டொலர் கட்டி மினைக்கெடவேண்டும் என சிங்கள நாளேடு பொரிந்து தள்ளியுள்ளது.

The President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapakse who took a mega delegation to New York using up colossal amount of state funds addressed the 66th UN assembly on yesterday.

At that moment , a protest was staged by the Tamils abroad in front of the UN Headquarters. The large crowd which staged the demonstrations braved the inclement weather in New York and the continuous rains which came down. The protestors demanded that punishment be meted out against Rajapakse on war crimes and to conduct fair investigations into the thousands of civilians who died during the war .

The most notable feature in this regard was , though time and place were arranged to stage a counter protest against this Tamil demonstration by the Sri Lanka (SL) office in the UN , New York, not a single Sinhalese participant coming forward to partake in the protests organized.
