பிரிட்டனின் முன்னாள் பிரதமர் டேவிட் கமரூன் கொழும்பு துறைமுக நகர திட்டத்தினை அங்கீகரிக்கும் விதத்தில் செயற்படுவது குறித்து பிரிட்டனின் தமிழ் சமூகம் கடும் ஏமாற்றமடைந்துள்ளது என தமிழ் கார்டியன் செய்தி வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

சீனாவின் புதியபட்டுப்பாதை திட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியான கொழும்புதுறைமுகநகர திட்டத்திற்கு டேவிட் கமரூன் ஆதரவளிப்பது குறித்து பிரிட்டனின் தமிழ் சமூகத்தினர் ஆழ்ந்த ஆச்சரியமும் திகைப்பும் அடைந்துள்ளனர் என பிரிட்டிஸ் தமிழ் கென்சவேர்ட்டிவ்களின் செயலாளர் கஜன் ராஜ் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

இரண்டாம் உலக யுத்தத்தின் பின்னர் யாழ்ப்பாணத்திற்கு விஜயம் மேற்கொண்ட முதல் பிரிட்டிஸ் பிரதமர் டேவிட் கமரூன்  இலங்கை அரசாங்கத்தின் பாரிய அநீதிகள் குறித்து சர்வதேச விசாரணை அவசியம் பரப்புரை செய்த முதல் உலக தலைவர் நீதி நிலைநாட்டப்பட வேண்டும் என்பது தொடர்பில் அவர் உறுதியான நிலைப்பாட்டை கொண்டிருந்தார் எனவும் கஜன்ராஜ் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

டேவிட் கமரூன் இலங்கைக்கு சென்றவேளை இந்த பிரச்சினை( நீதி) உலகின் கவனத்தை விட்டு அகலாது என்பதே நான் உங்களிற்கு தெரிவிக்கும் செய்தி இதனை மேலும் தீவிரமாக முன்னெடுக்கவேண்டும் எனவும் அவர் தெரிவித்திருந்தார் எனவும் கஜன்ராஜ் சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளார்.

இலங்கை இன்னமும் பொறுப்புக்கூறலையும் நீதியையும் வழங்காதபோதிலும் டேவிட் கமரூன் இலங்கை அரசாங்கத்தின் முயற்சிகளிற்கு ஊக்கமளிப்பதை நாங்கள் காண்கின்றோம் எனவும் தெரிவித்துள்ள அவர் இது ஆழ்ந்த மனஉளைச்சலை ஏற்படுத்துகின்றது எனவும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

டேவிட் கமரூன் இனப்படுகொலை குற்றச்சாட்டுகளிற்கு உள்ளாகியுள்ள நாடுகளின் திட்டங்களிற்கு உதவுவதற்கு பதில் மனித உரிமை நீதி போன்ற உயர்நோக்கம் கொண்ட கொள்கைகளிற்கு குரல்கொடுப்பதில் மீண்டும் ஈடுபடுவார் என எதிர்பார்க்கின்றோம் எனவும் பிரிட்டிஸ் தமிழ் கென்சவேர்ட்டிவ்களின் செயலாளர் கஜன் ராஜ் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

இதேவேளை டேவிட் கமரூனின் இந்த மனமாற்றம் ஆச்சரியமளிக்கவில்லை எனவும் பிரிட்டனின் தமிழர்கள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

இது எதிர்பார்க்கப்பட்ட விடயம்தான் என தொழிற்கட்சிக்கான தமிழர்கள் அமைப்பின் தலைவர் சென் கந்தையா தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

இலங்கையில் தொடரும் தமிழர்களின் துயரங்களை கென்சவேர்ட்டிவ்களின் மற்றுமொரு தலைவர் அலட்சியம் செய்கின்றார் என அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

பிரிட்டனில் 13 வருடகாலமாக கென்சவேர்ட்டிவ்கள் ஆட்சி புரிகின்றனர் இன்றுவரை யுத்த குற்றங்களிற்காக இலங்கையை சேர்ந்த ஒரு இராணுவ அதிகாரி அல்லது  அதிகாரிக்கு எதிராக தடைகள் விதிக்கப்படவில்லை என சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ள அவர் மனித உரிமை மீறல்களை கருத்தில் கொள்ளாமல் பிரிட்டனிற்கும் இலங்கைக்கும் இடையில் வர்த்தக உறவுகள் அதிகரிப்பதை நாங்கள் பார்க்கின்றோம் எனவும் அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

துறைமுக நகரத்தின் கட்டுப்பாடு பிரித்தானியாவின் கைகளுக்கு மாறுவதற்கான சாத்தியக்கூறுகள் அதிகம் இருப்பதாக புதிய/பழைய தகவல்கள் கூறுகின்றன.

Dilum Amunugama, Sri Lanka’s investment minister who attended the investment events in the UAE last month, told POLITICO he believed Cameron was enlisted to convince Western investors to put their money into the project.

Amunugama was at two events where Cameron spoke — one in Abu Dhabi with an audience of 100, and one in Dubai with an audience of 300.

“The main point he [Cameron] was trying to stress is that it is not a purely Chinese project, it is a Sri Lankan-owned project — and that is the main point I think the Chinese also wanted him to iron out,” Amunugama said.

The Sri Lankan minister said the decision to enlist Cameron “was taken by the Chinese company, not the government.”

Cameron’s office said his involvement was organized by the Washington Speakers Bureau, a D.C.-based agency that books guest speakers for corporate events.

His spokesperson said: “David Cameron spoke at two events in the UAE organized via Washington Speakers Bureau (WSB), in support of Port City Colombo, Sri Lanka.

“The contracting party for the events was KPMG Sri Lanka and Mr Cameron’s engagement followed a meeting he had with Sri Lanka’s president, Ranil Wickremesinghe, earlier in the year.

"Mr Cameron has not engaged in any way with China or any Chinese company about these speaking events. The Port City project is fully supported by the Sri Lankan government,” his spokesperson added.

The spokesperson declined to say how much Cameron was paid for his time. Cameron traveled to Sri Lanka in January and visited the development, but his office said that he did so as a guest of the president and that there was no commercial aspect to that trip."
