FRANK and Louie - an American cat born with two faces - has made it into the Guinness Book of World Records after celebrating his 12th birthday.

The Janus cat is the longest surviving feline of its kind after he was rescued as a kitten when his former owner wanted to have him put down.

The Janus cat is named after the Roman god with two faces and the unique feline also has two mouths, noses and three eyes.

Owner Marty Stevens said: "Every day is kind of a blessing; being 12 and normal life expectancy when they have this condition is one to four days.

"So, he's ahead of the game; every day I just thank God I still have him.”

The breed suffers from various health problems which make it difficult for them to survive.

Frank and Louie, from Massachussetts, can only see out of two of his three eyes but both of his noses work.
