"Five LTTE cadres guarding Pirabakaran have escaped by pretending to be dead amongst the dead bodies strewn in the battle field. One of them has escaped from Sri Lanka to a safe country."

(October 24, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) According to information gathered from a Senior Defense Ministry source in Colombo, it is established that the LTTE leader Velupillai Pirabakaran had surrendered to the army in the final stage of the war without swallowing the cyanide capsule tied to his neck.

The credible evidence obtained from the source linked to the Sri Lanka’s Military Intelligence led by Major-General Kapila Hendawithrana, Director-General reveal that the Tiger Chief was barbarically slaughtered by a senior Sri Lankan Army Chief.

The LTTE leader was said to have suffered the sadistic attack of having a hot metal rod shoved up his anal tunnel and he met his ultimate death by having the upper portion of his skull chopped with an axe whilst he was alive and struggling with the pain of anal penetration.

(A picture, released by Sri Lankan defence ministry, showing the mud-covered body of the slain LTTE chief lying bare naked covered only by a black loin-cloth.)

Former GOC of the 57 Division Maj. Gen.Jagath Dias personally undertook the gruesome task after verbally abusing him in filth and manhandling him in anger.

The anger of the Maj. Gen Dias dictated the ultimate destiny of Pirabakaran and no consideration was given to the Geneva Convention for the surrendering combatant leader in the war. The government too is preventing free media reporting or independent inquiry into the war crimes committed by both the government forces and the LTTE.

Dead body of Pirabakaran reflected the gruesome treatment accorded to him. One picture of him showed his forehead being tied with a sarong to avoid showing the axe chop injury to his forehead. Photographs also showed the deep injury to his forehead caused by the frenzied butchery by the assailant.

Prabhakaran's murderer’s name has been mentioned in two websites associated with the LTTE network and hence the Sri Lankan Ministry of Defense has taken extensive measures to protect Maj. Gen Jagath Dias. He has recently been given the appointment as the Deputy Ambassador of Germany to give him the protection under diplomatic immunity and to keep him out of Sri Lanka to avoid becoming victim of possible LTTE retribution.

The government officials and its media came out with several stories about Pirabakaran’s death. One said Pirabakaran was killed by the specialist sniper unit. Another said he was bombed and killed when he was trying to escape in a Red Cross ambulance. There was also a story that he was airlifted to Colombo by the Air Force and subject to torture before he was brought back to the battle front for his execution. The intriguing of the stories was that Pirabakaran was taken to India and that India refused to take him and the GoSL had to bring him back to Sri Lanka and then he was executed.

Further inquiries reveal, about five LTTE cadres guarding Pirabakaran have escaped by pretending to be dead amongst the dead bodies strewn in the battle field. One of them has escaped from Sri Lanka to a safe country. These men escaped near death as the Sri Lankan soldiers had walked over them thinking that they were amongst the dead.
