அண்மைய மாதங்களாக லண்டனில் வகை தொகையின்றித் தொடரும் கத்திக் குத்து மற்றும் துப்பாக்கிச் சூட்டுக் கொலைகள் தற்போது லண்டன் வாழ் தமிழர் தரப்பை மீண்டும் பதம் பார்க்க ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டது.

தெற்கு லண்டனில் 17 வயதான தமிழ் சமூகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த இளைஞன் தெருச் சண்டையொன்றில் கத்திக் குத்துக்கு இலக்காகி இன்று மரணமடைந்துள்ளார். இக்கொலை தொடர்பில் ஒருவர் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

இதேவேளை மன்ஜெஸ்ரர் நகரில் இன்று 16 வயது வெள்ளையின இளைஞனும் கத்திக் குத்துக்கு இலக்காகி பலியாகியுள்ளார்.

வர வர லண்டன் கொழும்பை விட மேசசமாய் வந்திட்டுது. கடந்த வாரம் என்னுடைய ஒரு உறவினர் வீட்டை உடைத்து கொள்ளையடித்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

லண்டனிலும் கொஞ்ச பேரை பிடித்து ஊரூக்கு அனுப்பி விட , கனடாவில் செய்தது போல் , இப்படியான குழப்பங்களில் இருந்து சில வேளை விடுதலை கிடைக்கலாம். மனதுக்கு கஸ்டமாக இருத்தாலும் சில முடிவுகள் எடுத்தேயாக வேண்டிய நிலமை. எத்தனையோ நாட்டு மக்கள் தமது வாழ்வியலை மாற்றும் போது எமது இளையவர்கள் ஏன் வன் செயல்களில் ஈடுபட்டு எமது மக்களுக்கு களங்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.? இதனை மேற்குலக ஊடகங்கள் எம்மை பயங்கரவாதிகளாக சித்தரிக்க நாங்கள் ஏன் காரணமாக வேண்டும்?

Cops name stabbed teen

A teenager stabbed to death in a street fight in Croydon has been named by police.

Nilanthan Murddi, 17, was stabbed in the early hours of Saturday, dying from a single knife wound to the neck after the incident on Sumner Road.

Police investigating the death are trying to find the minicab driver who dropped their suspect off.

It is believed the driver of a blue Ford Mondeo cab dropped off the suspect in Sumner Road near the junction with London Road about 1am.

The 17-year-old was found by ambulance crews with a serious stab wound to the neck a short time later. He died in Mayday Hospital at 4.30am yesterday.

A postmortem investigation yesterday at St Heliers Hospital gave the cause of death as a single knife wound to the neck.

Police say the suspect, described only as a white male, got out of the cab and was involved in an argument with the driver.

It is now known that after the row with the cab driver words were exchanged with the victim and his friends standing nearby.

The suspect then left the scene but returned a little while later and was again involved in an exchange of words with the victim and his friends, which resulted in the victim being injured.

The suspect was last seen walking north in London Road.

“We have no description of the cab driver nor any further description of the car but we do believe it was a licensed mini-cab. It is thought the cabbie drove off towards London Road,” a Met spokesman said.

Detective Chief Inspector Tim Grattan-Kane said: "We really need to trace the driver of the cab as he may hold the key to the identity of the suspect.

"It's not known at this time what the argument was about either with the cab driver or the group but anyone with information about the incident should call us."

A 31-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with the stabbing but has been released on police bail to return next month.
