அப்பாவி ஈழத் தமிழர்களை படுகொலை செய்த இலங்கை அரசாங்கத்திற்கு எதிராக அமெரிக்கா உள்ளிட்ட நாடுகள் ஜெனிவா மனித உரிமைகள் கூட்டத் தொடரில் கொண்டு வரவுள்ள தீர்மானத்தை இந்தியா ஆதரிக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் இந்திய இலங்கைக்கு ஆதரவளிக்கப் போவதாக ஊடககங்களில் வந்த செய்திகள் கவலையளிக்கின்றன என்றும் தமிழக முதலமைச்சர் செல்வி ஜெயலலிதா இன்று மீண்டும் பிரதமருக்கு எழுதியுள்ள கடிதத்தில் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

ஜெனிவா கூட்டத்தில் இலங்கைக்கு எதிரான போர்க்குற்ற தீர்மானத்தை ஆதரிக்குமாறு தான் எழுதிய கடித்திற்கு பிரதமரிடமிருந்து எந்தப் பதில்களும் வராத நிலையில் இந்திய இலங்கைக்கு ஆதரவாக செயற்படப் போவதாக ஊடககங்களில் வெளிவந்த செய்திகள் தனக்கு கவலையளிப்பதாக தெரிவித்துள்ள முதலமைச்சர் ஜெயலலிதா கடந்த சில நாட்களின் முன்பாக இலங்கை அரசுக்கு எதிரான தீர்மானத்தை மனித உரிமை மாநாட்டில் இந்தியா ஆதரிக்க வேண்டும் என்று பிரமதருக்கு தான் எழுதிய கடிதத்தை மீண்டும் நினைவுபடுத்துவதாக தெரிவித்தார்.

இலங்கையில் அப்பாவி ஈழத் தமிழர்களை ஈவ இரக்கமின்றி இலங்கை அரசு படுகொலை செய்துள்ளமையை சுட்டிக்காட்டிய முதலமைச்சர் செல்வி ஜெயலலிதா தமிழ்நாடு சட்டமன்றத்தில் இலங்கை அரசுக்கு எதிராக போர்குற்ற விசாரiணையை நடத்த வேண்டும் என்றும் இந்தியா பொருளாதார உறவை துண்டிக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் தீர்மானங்களை ஏகமனதோடு நிறைவேற்றியதை அவர் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார்.

அத்துடன் சிங்களவர்களுக்கு நிகராக ஈழத் தமிழர்களுக்கும் அரசியல் உரிமைகள் சமமாக வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்ற பிரேரணையை தான் பிரதமரிடம் நேரில் கேட்டக் கொண்டதையும் நினைவுபடுத்திய தமிழக முதலமைச்சர் செல்வி ஜெயலலிதா ஈழத் தமிழர்களின் உரிமைகள் மற்றும் பாதுகாப்புத் தொடர்பில் பிரதமருக்கு எழுதியுள்ள கடிதங்களின் விபரங்கள் அனைத்தையும் இன்று நினைவுபடுத்தி இந்தக் கடிதத்தை எழுதியுள்ளார்.

Jaya wants India to support US-backed resolution in UNHRC

Chennai,Mar6 (PTI) Taking exception to India's reported stand that it was against 'country-specific' resolutions at the United Nations Human Rights Council, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today said this would amount to bailing out Sri Lanka, which is facing war crimes allegations. In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh she recalled her earlier communication to him and reiterated that India should support the US-backed resolution in the UNHRC and 'strongly' condemned Colombo for human rights violations during the civil war. "While there has been no response to my letter, much to my dismay, certain reports have appeared in the media relating to Government of Indias stand on the US backed resolution on accountability issues of the Sri Lankan civil war involving human rights violations to be moved for voting in the UNHRC in Geneva in March, 2012," she said.

Noting that the media reports mentioned that India was against 'country specific' resolutions and wanted to take up discussions only under Universal Periodic Review as a routine matter, she said: "This means direct support to the Sri Lankan Government, which is most unfortunate and untenable." "I, therefore, reiterate my earlier requests and insist that India should support the United States backed resolution in the United Nations Human Rights Council and strongly condemn the Sri Lankan Government," she said, adding, she was awaiting positive response from him.
