AK 203 வகையைச் சேர்ந்த துப்பாக்கிகளை கொள்வனவு செய்ய இந்தியா, ரஷ்யாவுடன் ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துள்ள நிலையில், குறித்த ஒப்பந்தத்தின் ஒருபகுதியாக 70 ஆயிரம் துப்பாகிகளை ரஷ்யா விநியோகம் செய்துள்ளன.

ஆறு  இலட்சத்து 70 ஆயிரம் இராணுவ துப்பாக்கிகளை கொள்வனவு செய்ய இந்தியா ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துள்ள நிலையில், முதல் கட்டமாக 70 ஆயிரம் துப்பாக்கிகளை ரஷ்யா விநியோகம் செய்துள்ளது.

இந்திய இராணுவத்தில் ஏற்கனவே பயன்பாட்டில் இருக்கும் INSAS துப்பாக்கிகளுக்கு பதிலாக இந்த துப்பாக்கிகள் இடம்பெறவுள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.  இந்த துப்பாக்கிகள் 300 மீற்றர் தூரத்தில் உள்ள இலக்கை துல்லியமாக தாக்கும் திறன் கொண்டவையாகும்.

INSAS or Indian Small Arms System^[9] is a family of infantry arms consisting of an assault rifle and a light machine gun (LMG).
