Dear Madam,

I have read your recent opinion on the Unitary Ceylon. I am really pleased with what you have said and am honestly thanking you for saying the truth at the right time.

As you know, we Tamils in Northern srilanka are going through a very tough time at the hands of the Srilankan Government. Specially under the current leadership of Mahinda Rajapakse, we have suffered the most in the entire ethnic crisis of Srilanka. In the name of "War on Terror", the Srilankan Government has killed more than 10,000 innocent Tamil civilains in the last two years. In the first two months of 2009 alone, more than 2000 Tamils died in indiscreminate shelling and aerial bombardment in Wanni, Srilanka.

The Government is using internationally banned weapons such as, cluster munitions and thermobaric white phosporous shells against highly populated civilian settlements. People been targeted in Hospitals, refugee camps, churches, "safe zones"(which were decalared by the same Srilankan Government). With no UN agencies to monitor and care civilians in the area , the Government has no opposition in carrying out its genocide agenda against helpless tamil civilians. The last NGO was to move out of the war zone is, ICRC.

The Defence Secrataray of Srilanka has openly said,"any hospitals outside the Government territory is a legitimate target of the Srilankan security forces, hence they should be attacked!". In another instance, he made a speech in front of his troops, saying "you rape any Tamil women you see when entering Mullaitivu, and the Indian ocean should turn red with Tamil men's blood". What is this? isn't it a Genocide?

நல்ல முயற்சி. ஆனால் இவர்களுக்கு சிறீலங்காவில் நடப்பது தெரியாது என்றில்லை. இவர்களின் வெறும் அறிக்கைகள் எமது மக்களையோ மண்ணையோ பாதுகாக்கப் போவதில்லை. செயற்பாடுகளே அதுவும் துரித செயற்பாடுகளே.. எதிரியின் எறிகணைகளையும் விமானங்களையும் எமது தேச எல்லைக்கு அப்பால் நகர்த்தும் செயறபாடே எமது மக்களுக்கு உயிர் வாழ்வை உறுதிப்படுத்தும்..! அதைச் செய்ய விரைந்து செயற்படுவோமாக.!
