பீகார் ஒபரா தொகுதியை சேர்ந்த சுயட்சை சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சோம பிரகாஷ் சிங், வயது 38,முன்னால் காவல் துறை அதிகாரி, லஞ்ச ஒழிப்பு தான் இவரது குறிக்கோள். ராஜபக்சே வருகையை கண்டித்து தனது கண்டன அறிக்கையை வெளியிட்டுள்ளார்.

'சம தர்மத்தை போதித்த நமது பாரத தேசத்தின் , அண்டை நாடான இலங்கையில் தமிழர்களின் உரிமைகளுக்காகவும் , தமிழ் ஈழம் அமைவதற்கும் போராடி கொண்டு இருந்த தமிழர்களின் மீது இறுதி கட்ட போரில் நடந்த பேரிழப்புகள், துன்பங்கள் கணக்கில் அடங்காதவை. தமிழர்களின் உரிமைகளை கொடுபதற்கு பதிலாக அவர்களிடம் இவர்கள் பறித்தது 150,000 தமிழர்களின் உயிர்கள்.

தமிழர்கள் இருந்தால் தானே அவர்கள் உரிமைகள் கேட்பதற்கு என்ற குறிகோளோடு செயல் பட்டு கொண்டு இருக்கும் ராஜபக்சே, தனது சொந்த மக்கள் மீது போர் தொடுத்து , நரபலியில் ஹிட்லரை பின்னுக்கு தள்ளி உள்ளார். இப்படி பட்ட ஒரு மனித மிருகம் வருவது நமது நாட்டிற்கே கேடு.

உலகிற்கே அகிம்சையை போதித்த புத்தர் பிறந்த மண் புத்தகயா,சாம்ராட் அசோகர் தனது ஆயுதத்தை தூக்கி எறிந்து உலகம் முழுவதும் அகிம்சை போதிபதற்கு இந்த இடத்திலிருந்து தான் துவங்கினார். அப்பேர்ப்பட்ட இந்த மண்ணில் தான், நமது சகோதரர்களான தமிழர்களையும் கூடவே மனிதாபிமானத்தையும் கொன்று குவித்த பாவி மகிந்த ராஜபக்சே வருவதற்கு நாம் என்றுமே அனுமதிக்க கூடாது.

மேலும் 7 ஆம் தேதி அன்று ராஜபக்சேவின் வருகையை கண்டித்து புத்தகயாவில் போராட்டம் நடத்தவுள்ளோம் .

Bihar cop turned MLA wants to quit politics

The man who gave up his job as a policeman in Bihar to fight corruption by venturing into politics has become disillusioned a tad too soon.

Bihar MLA Som Prakash Singh, who won the 2010 state assembly election as an Independent from Obra constituency in Aurangabad district, now wants to quit politics because of the bitter experiences in his fight against corruption at the grassroots level.

"I have not lived up to the expectations of the people who had elected me as a legislator," he said. "If there is any morality left in me, I should resign. The people of my constituency have the right to elect a new representative."

The 40-year-old former sub-inspector, who had opted for voluntary retirement from the police force to contest the polls, said had it been possible for him he would have gone back to his earlier profession. "As a police officer, I at least had the power to arrest the corrupt. But as an MLA, I find myself devoid of any power to take action against anybody indulging in corrupt practices," he said.

Singh rued that he has had many bitter experiences ever since he became an MLA. "I am a probationer in politics and still learning many things about it. I have realised that bureaucrats and their agents have made a mockery of the democratic system," he said.

After becoming an MLA he had tried to fight corruption by asking the people of his constituency not to pay bribes. "After my address, a public distribution system (PDS) dealer Ramji Yadav from Daudnagar block told me that he and his colleagues had to grease the palm of the officers to get their quota of ration and kerosene. I wrote letters to the district magistrate in this regard but failed to get any response from them. I, thereafter, complained about it to chief minister Nitish Kumar," he said.

The chief minister immediately asked the food and consumer affairs minister Shyam Rajak to look into my complaint and take action against the erring staff.

But after a month, Yadav's licence for the shop was cancelled for his bid to highlight corruption in the system. Not only this, when he went to the officials to seek the refund of Rs.40,000 that he had deposited in advance for lifting the grains, he was asked to pay bribe," he alleged.

Singh said that Yadav did not even have enough money to pay the fees for his son's education. The MLA said that he was now trying to raise funds through donations to help Yadav who had paid the price for his campaign against corruption.

He said that he had had many other similar experiences as a legislator. "These things have forced me to think about resigning as an MLA," he said. "But I will definitely make it a big issue before quitting."
