Provisional Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam is a Dangerous Exercise

On 15th June S. Pathmanathan, the most prominent of surviving members of the LTTE announced the establishment of a Provisional Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (PTG), pointing to the danger to the ‘very physical survival of Tamils’ and the absence of ‘political space to articulate their legitimate political aspirations’ in Lanka. This was followed the next day by V. Rudrakumaran, heading the committee of 13 leading advocates of the LTTE for the formation of the PTG. There was a note of irony in his saying that the committee would function within democratic principles and would capture the aspirations of the people by means of contact maintained with them through the TNA.

Many of the sentiments expressed by the two gentlemen would have captured the feelings of most Tamils in the wake of the July 1983 violence and the Welikada prison massacre. We Tamils had then what was still a democratic leadership. The TULF leader Mr. Amirthalingam would have been under pressure to establish a PTG, had not India intervened and tried to push through the Parthasarathy proposals, agreed to and aborted by President Jayewardena, signalling the protracted civil war.

Much water has since flowed under the bridge, which makes the PTG a dangerous exercise, cornering the Tamils again into the pernicious politics of half truths. Rudrakumaran points to the killing of three Tamil MPs on Rajapaksa’s watch, saying nothing of the LTTE’s killings of scores of MPs, political leaders and budding leaders. A good core of thinking people on the ground and certainly the 300,000 in IDP camps would not go along with blaming all the Tamils’ ills on the Sinhalese government. The IDPs would have spoken aloud their indignation about the LTTE, which used them as hostages to protect the leadership and their booty, placed their conscripted children on the frontlines and shot and shelled hundreds who tried to escape from their clutches.

The reason the IDPs cannot do so is the Government holds them prisoner behind barbed wire indiscriminately, fearing that they would give the world ‘false testimony’ about bombing and shelling by the Government.

What is then the PTG’s link to the people, while it totally denies this tragedy and holds that the people were staying with the LTTE out of patriotic devotion? Even during the last weeks of acute tragedy, the TNA uttered not a word demanding the LTTE let the people go. It would now keep quiet about it and watch the drift remaining carefully ambivalent about the PTG. As with the LTTE, the interests and arrogance evident in the PTG’s attempt to continue a politics detrimental to the Tamil people inside Lanka, is more about attempting to sustain a bankrupt enterprise abroad through further lies, mobilisation and collection of funds.

We see here Sinhalese and Tamil polities gearing up to continue the politics of half truths, reinforcing each other’s myths to goad the country into further tragedy. The Government would, on the presumption of Tamil perfidy, go on finding reasons to expand the army and maintain it on a permanent war footing and to keep IDPs, both old and new, away from their lands from which they were violently driven out in Manal Aru (Weli Oya) and large stretches of arable land in Sampoor and Jaffna. It will find reasons to override the law and continue with disappearances, official killings, the new habit of putting persons in remand prison (even an astrologer, now that the CID could apparently read the stars even better) and thinking about charges many moons later. Besides, it now seems that the Government could detain someone on the hypothetical fear that they might give false testimony about it to foreigners.

On the Tamil side there would be an attempt to promote a mythical legacy of the LTTE shorn of all its terrible crimes against its own people. All that this politics had to offer were cycles of tragedy and displacement would be hidden behind an appeal to emotions. What happened in 1987 and described by Rajani Thiranagama in the Broken Palmyra, holds for 1990, 1995 - 2000 and 2006-2009:

“The nation was on the roads, their worldly belongings in plastic bags, their children on their hips, in the blistering noon day heat, from refugee camp to refugee camp, from village to village, fleeing from the withdrawing Tigers and the advancing army...Then came the shells, cannon, tank fire, helicopter fire and even bombs from the Sri Lankan bombers. When Tiger sentry point after sentry point withdrew without a whimper, only firing rounds of automatic fire thereby luring the Indian army, the people were the sacrifice.”

What the Tamils need uppermost is a reexamination of their narrow-nationalist politics, a challenge V. Karalasingham posed as early as 1963: “The present leadership because of its close identification with the past will not encourage any discussion of fundamental questions - it would rather see the Tamil people burn themselves out in impotent rage and despair rather than permit a critical reexamination of its politics.”

There cannot be reexamination without facing the truth, and when that happens we have to exorcise all associations with the TULF-LTTE legacy. It is the bankruptcy of this legacy that led to anger against those who try to work constructively with the Muslims and Sinhalese. It was the TULF leaders’ deadly ambivalence about violence which led them to hound Alfred Duraiappah and incite his assassination as a traitor by its parricidal progeny - the LTTE.

Where would Germany, Europe’s economic giant, be today, if her postwar political leaders had begun by denying the fascist legacy and mass murder instead of facing the bitter truth and its implications?

While living through the bombing of German cities as a prisoner, Dietrich Bonhoeffer did not utter a word of blame against Britain and the US who were themselves committing a crime against humanity. He mourned for the dead and gave practical advice to the living on protecting themselves against allied bombing, but his state of mind is best described in his citation from Psalm 60: “Thou hast moved the land and divided it; heal the sores thereof for it shaketh” (Letters and Papers from Prison). He was an internationalist, far too conscious of German blame.

Anyone observing this country’s record of several rounds of communal violence since 1956 and continual killings of thousands of civilians in security operations since 1984, mainly of Tamils by armed forces and of Sinhalese and Muslims mainly by the LTTE, and the absence of credible inquiries leading identification and punishment of offenders, would be very pessimistic about its future. Reconciliation would be a lost cause unless the truth is made public and a starting point is in place. Take the two cases below.

On 14th July 2007 Miss. Lathasini Arunachalam a timid assistant in a shop in Chavakacheri regularly visited by Army Intelligence, was followed by military men on a motorcycle and shot dead a short distance from home, leaving five bullets in her body. Having made several inquiries we found no evidence that she was helping the LTTE.

On 9th November 2008, Mrs. Sumathy Srirangan (28), a mother of two, who was travelling from Pt. Pedro to Jaffna for medical treatment was taken off the bus by the LTTE in Nallur, walked to a tank a mile away and shot dead. She had left the LTTE and become a family woman. Her crime was that she had gone to the EPDP office seeking support for her medical treatment.

Both these stories are samples among thousands which show the sadistic character of both sides. Any organized force that kills unarmed women in this way is to be utterly abhorred. To the Sinhalese in the near term the Army may be heroes, but the Tamils will find it difficult to see any qualitative difference between the Army and the LTTE.

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry assisted by the IIGEP gave the Government an opportunity to prove that impartial and professional investigations could be conducted in Lanka and thereby strike a new direction. But government manipulation made the attempt a farce. The politics of both sides obstruct any honest reassessment.

Without the truth being investigated and made public, those who want to keep the people divided would feed them with half truths that place all the villainy on the other side. Thus while one side has screamed genocide against the Government, the country’s leaders have glorified the Army for getting rid of a ‘monster’. The leaders have repeatedly dismissed well-founded cases of violations by the security forces, as fiction concocted by traitors and malignant foreigners. Others inevitably see monsters among those who planned and executed in public the fearsome killing of the Trincomalee five students.

We have a divided country set to continue the politics of half truths. The majority from all the communities are capable of looking inwardly and want to move away from the desultory post independence politics of confrontation on fanciful issues based on history and genetics, issues as slippery as reading the stars. They would be more than ready to rise to the challenge of facing the facts and to develop an impartial and effective machinery to address past violations. If that cannot happen, it is a failure of leadership on both sides.

While the people have repeatedly shown themselves ready for a political settlement, a handful of opinion makers in the South continue to blame everything that went wrong for the Sinhalese polity since independence on the Tamils. Any discussion of a political settlement is sidetracked by them with feints such as ‘not home made’, ‘imposed from outside’ and ‘not suitable to our conditions’. The logical implication would be the absurdity of discarding the modern state with its parliamentary democracy, which is a colonial legacy, and going back to the old despotic kingdoms of Kotte and Jaffna!

What I always yearned for, when the war would end eventually (I was confident that war certainly would come to and end but never thought LTTE would be totally vanquished) is a a " Truth and Justice Commission" similar to the one that was established in South Africa after apartheid. Apart from its healing effect it is our moral duty towards posterity.

We Tamils, especialy the youngs, who hold the future should keep this as a motto for our future success & endeavours instead of lurking in the ambivalence of Eelam or PTG.

We Tamils, especialy the youngs, who hold the future should also engage the international community in a constructive rahter than a confrontational way towards the SL Tamils issue.

Setting up a PTG is not productive as Sri Lanka will never agree to a division of the country. Rather the Tamil Diaspora should accept the realities of the ground situation and support moderate Sri Lankans in implementing the 13th amendment and thereafter helping develop the majority Tamil Areas to the advantage of the people living in those areas.

Unity is strength whereas as division leads to conflict and destruction. Further prolongation of this conflict is to the detriment of all Sri Lankans including the Tamil people. By declaring PTG you are playing into the hands of extremist in the South and strengthening hardliners in the Government. Therefore it would be better to rename PTG as International Tamil Council for Rehabiltation and Reconstruction or something similiar and chart a completely different course which will help the Tamil Community back on its feet rather than continuing the conflict for the next decade.

My questions is,

What is a Tamil person's aim - IS IT SUFFERING?????????? or

Is there a better way of living their life?

Reflecting back I always wondered, whether the Tamil people bought more calamity to themselves than others did to them

A. They killed the Tamil people who lived a good life in Colombo, calling them the elites

B. Handed over their rule to various terrorists organization which included EPRLF's VP and LTTE's VP

C. Living as asylum seekers in foreign country but then .... continuous demonstrations there

D. Lived as human shields to protect one man

E. Living in camps now or living in a high security zone .. paying 1000s of rupees to travel eat etc

F. Living like suspects of terrorism in other parts of the country

Who is to blame???

You can continue to blame the Sinhalese and argue on homeland issues

Or .... you can exploit the situation in a more modern capitalistic (don't blame me for being a capitalist) way and bring the best to your community?

Another balanced article by Dr Hoole. If the Tamils had been wise enough from the time of independence, we probably would have had a Tamil Prime Minister and even a President by now. However, Karalsingham-type politics stood in the way.

In ordinary circumstances, say if some one slashed the tyres of a car parked on the road,that should be regarded a crime and the culprit charged and punished.

But if on the other hand if it transpires that the car was wired with a hidden time bomb and ready to be driven by a suicide bomber to a crowded market place, then the slashing of the tyres should not be regarded as a crime.

The PTG proposed by people like Pathmanathan(KP) and Rudrkumaran of the LTTE falls into this category and Dr.Rajan Hoole should be congratulated for the timely slashing tyres of the PTG rust bucket.

The first thing for the Tamils is to secure their lands and not to elect a Trans-national government. It is better to have a powerless land than a powerful government which cannot enforce its authority anywhere.If land is secured then power can be gradually obtained. No minority anywhere in the world got their dues from an oppressive regime, either autonomy or Independence, without the support of a foreign country. The best chance the Tamils had to secure their lands was in 1987 with the support of IPKF, but Prabaharan squandered it. Not only he miserably failed, he also eliminated others who would have fared better, with their thinking of running with the hare and hunting with the hound. Now another attempt is being made by some residual elements of LTTE to mess up the Tamil cause. Let the TNA who are experienced people who have a good raport with India to handle matters and secure the homeland as envisaged by the Indo-Lanka accord of 1987. LTTE elements must now lay there hands off the Tamil problem. They were given a chance for 22 years and have come a cropper. They are not only a failed organisation but also a doomed one. Tamils worldwide must act patiently and lay the foundation for the future generation. Instead of talking about forming governments Tamils must sit down and develop a National Flag and National Anthem. The National Flag must be secular denoting equality without any symbol of racial or religious or political hue. National Anthem also should be in the same principle, perhaps they can adopt one of the excellent works of Subramaniya Barathy. No one can object to this, unlike the formation of a Government in exile.

As Rudrakumar claims if PTG committee would function within democratic principles, will he, according to the rule of law, make KP to surrender to Interpol and let the law to prevail.

If not, why KP is still hiding and, what can a person do in this world hiding from the authorities. Do we need another leadership working from the underground? Do the other learned members of the PTG acknowledge a leadership that is wanted by Interpol.

Secondly, any future Tamil leadership with the LTTE shades, past or present, cannot do anything good to the Tamils. This applies not only to KP but to Rudrakumar and to the other members also.

What V. Karalasingham posed as early as 1963 is totally correct even in the present context.

Please let the Tamils of Sri Lanka who are in Sri Lanka decide their fate. If you cannot do anything good it will be great if you do not continue to do any harm.

K.P. the self-appointed leader of the defunct LTTE has proved his gross incapability as a leader in that charade that went out to announce “the death” of VP. A few days after he announced the death his colleagues (and he too) made contradictory statements giving sufficient indications that the professionalism of Anton Balasingham, Thamilchelvam and others that gained the world’s attention is no more. He is nothing more than a joke now. It is now in the wider Tamil interest to negotiate, negotiate and negotiate with the Sinhala governments to get our dues. Even a former JVP Minister and front-liner of the Party in an interview given to an English Sunday newspaper this week demands immediate and strong action for justice to the Tamils of the North-East. He asks for the immediate restoration of the IDPs to their homes and away from the Concentration camps. Even the most extreme wings of the Government’s Coalition partners from the Sinhala supremacist wing are now made to agree to start with the provisions of the 13th Amendment. India, many in the international community are encouraging the Govt to arrive at a mutually workable formulae with the Tamils. With many faults on his side, the President is also gradually giving in to reason. Although justice is on the Tamil side, we must also recognize he has his political baggages and problems with his own set of chronic and contradictory allies. Trying to revive the train service to Jaffna, open up the A-9 for civil and commercial traffic, allow day and night fishing, restore power to the Jaffna district, looking into providing flights to/fro Jaffna at cheaper fares etc he gives indications he is not altogether totally insensitive to Tamil concerns. He cannot be. The world is watching. I have been an ardent critic of his and his GoSL but we must be pragmatic. Doing away with the APRC and trying to win time with the newer APCDR could well be delaying tactics the President has earned an unenviable reputation with. But he has to come out with a set of accomplishments to convince other countries and institutions whose support is necessary for the survival of his administration. This idea of a Transitional or Provisional Govt is a non-starter and will be as bad as the violent path the peaceful Tamil struggle was taken when it was hi-jacked by some of the restless youth. Tamils suffered much more through this passage than when the moderates agitated through the Parliamentary path between 1956 to about 1980. The way out is to strengthen the hands of experienced leaders like those in the TNA and for all other Tamil groups to join in and present proposals under a single voice. This might have a greater chance of success than the unchartered and unknown path of a Govt-in-Exile.

Provisional Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (PTG), was never debated in Sri Lanka. Tamils, who are living in Jaffna, Vanni, Bati, Trinco and Colombo were denied their views. This idea is to benefit some individuals enterprise abroad through further lies, and collection of funds. Thanks to Dr. Hoole for timely written article.

Dear Rajan,

Who is to blame once again? Politicans are the root cause of every(literally) evil. Sri Lanka could have been the Singapore or beyond (highly unlikely as we don't have Chinese people), if we had carefully invested our materialistic resources and managed all our assets properly.

Once again it's an unfortunate event that the two major communities always wanted to be ruled by an uneducated or by a thug (There are various examples from the north and the south - I AM NOT SURE WHETHER LAKSHMAN KADIRAGAMAR is either of them, but we Sri Lankans always hate elites, don't we? and vote for the thug).

If Tamil people have grievances the answer is not that I wan't to leave the family, divide the house into two or 1/3 but ... getting answers for grievances. When you are a minority you always have problems except if you live in the UK or perhaps Canada (Where majority will be sent to prison if they utter anything politically incorrect against the minority - hilarious).

If you think that you are being treated unfairly, think about all other countries where there are minorities and how they are treated. Sri Lanka is a place where monks will carry guns, or threaten people or swear at people .. and they are protected constitutionally. If you utter anything against them you are trying to destruct Heenayana Buddhism and you are an unpatriotic traitor.

I am not sure what would have happened to Gauthama Buddha if he had lived in this so called Buddhist land in this era. I am not sure when will be the next Buddha descend but I am pretty sure it's certainly not going to be Sri Lanka.

On the other hand perhaps for now one should see the "Provisional Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam" as a necessary counter to the "Despotic Fascist Government of Sinhala-Buddhist Mania".

It is after all even called PROVISIONAL.

Dr. Hoole has penned a balanced article. Some questions crossed my mind. I feel like sharing those.

1. If GOSL wants to find reasons to expand its army, it can create reasons or will find grounds to hold reasons. The question is whether GOSL would address the SriLankan Tamil issue genuinely in the absence of PTG or any other similar political outcry from Tamil Diaspora aboard.

2. In my opinion Tamil parties were not narrow during Sir Pnnambalam period and even when were demanding for a federal set up. The extreme Sinhala mob mentality in handling Tamil issue, like burning Jaffana library, repeated communal violence sponsored by the GOSL (it is not a natural outburst of Sinhala masses against Tamils, general Sinhala public were sympathetic towards Tamils) made or pushed the Tamil politics to Vadukottai resolusion to identify them to the past.

3. Germany and Japan rose from their ashes when their economical and geopolitical needs met with those of who destroyed them and once when Great Briton lost its glory of an empire inter dependency became inevitable. European Economic Community is a viable example of how countries could break up into smaller countries and yet be together through interdependency. If not such interdependency between Sinhalese and Tamils, in my opinion, come to occur in future due to geopolitical shift in the region SriLankan politics is going to be oppressive towards Tamils.

For Decades the MAFIA extorted, Stole, and intimidated their OWN community in Diaspora countries like the USA and UK.. This is what will happen to Tamils too. Have fun People! Enjoy your "Self-Rule" by Thuggery and Intimidation. After all you are already used to it under Velupillai Prabhakaran so it should not come as any surprise to you in the future.

People behind the idea may have been dangerous, once. But do not see any arguments for why the idea itself is dangerous. May be the author is implying that Tamils should have no aspirations lest it intimidate the Sinhalese. Wasn’t this, apart from G.G. Ponnampalam’s 50-50, the reality prior to 1958? The nature of democracy in Sri Lanka is such, to win votes, there has to be a whipping boy. Would Karalasingham’s proposal assure that Tamils won’t have to play the whipping-boy role ever again?

Perhaps you could make arrangements to republish Karalasingham's entire manifesto -- A way out for the Tami- Speaking People,I believe it was called -- on the internet?It would make instuctive reading even after these long years and the after the desperate straits to which the Tamils have been brought by the three --one opprtunist and the two fools/fanatics,GGP,SJVC, and VP.

கூலின் கட்டுரை வரவேற்கத்தக்கது. கலைஞன் சொன்னது போல.. விடயங்களை தொடங்க முன்னரே அதன் அனுகூலங்கள் பிரதிகூலங்களை ஆராய்வது அவசியம். அந்நிய நாட்டுக் கொள்கை வகுப்புக்களை நாம் கவனத்தில் எடுத்துச் செயற்படாததும் எமது ஆயுதப் போராட்ட வீழ்ச்சிக்கு முக்கிய காரணம்.

வெறும் புலம்பெயர்ந்த தமிழர்களின் காசை நம்பி தேசிய தலைவர் எடுத்த முடிவுகளும் அவ்வளவு உசிதமானவையாக அமையவில்லை..!

இன்று தமிழ் மக்கள் அரசியல் அனாதைகளாக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில்.. மேலும் மேலும் அவர்களின் அரசியல் பலவீனப்படுத்தப்படுவது தமிழ் மக்களின் உரிமைப் போராட்டத்திற்கு தமிழ் மக்களின் இருப்புக்கு உதவாது. தமிழ் மக்களின் நியாயமான அரசியல் அபிலாசைகளை பிரதிபலிக்க முடியாதவர்களை சிங்களம் தனது பிரதிநிதிகளாக தமிழ் மக்களிடையே திணிப்பதையும் நாம் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள வேண்டிய நிலை மீண்டும் 1987 இற்குப் பின்னர் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.

ஏலவே த.தே.கூ நாடுகடந்த அரசு என்ற அம்சம் பற்றி களத்தில் பேசக் கூட அஞ்சும் நிலையில்.. நாடு கடந்த அரசு ஒரு ஆபத்தான முன்னுதாரணம் என்று அமெரிக்கா உட்பட சில நாடுகள் விடுத்திருக்கும் எச்சரிக்கைகளை நாம் கவனத்தில் எடுத்துச் செயற்படுவதும்.. அதற்கேற்ப திட்டங்களை தீட்டுவதும் அவசியம்.

ராஜன் கூலின் பிரதிகூலமான கருத்துக்கள் வரவேற்கப்பட வேண்டியவையே. அதிலிருந்து நாம் எவ்வாறு முன்னேறிச் சென்று இந்தப் பிரதிகூலங்களால் அனுகூலங்களை நாடு கடந்த அரசுக்கு கிடைக்க வழி செய்ய முடியும் என்பதை ஆராய்பவர்களாக இருக்க வேண்டுமே அன்றி.. ராஜன் கூலை அவரின் தனிப்பட்ட அரசியல் நிலைப்பாடுகளை மாற்ற நாம் கங்கணம் கட்டிக் கொண்டு நிற்பது அவசியமற்றது.

ராஜன் கூல் மக்கள் இறந்தது தொடர்பில் அறிக்கைவிட்டு என்ன ஆகப் போகிறது. அவர் புலிகளுக்கு எதிராக அறிக்கை விட்டால் ஐநா விருதுவரை கிடைக்கும். அவர் அதனைத்தான் அதிகம் கருத்தில் கொள்வார்.நாம் (புலம்பெயர் தமிழர்கள்) மட்டும் என்ன செய்தோம். புலிகள் மீது சகட்டு மேனிக்கு போட்டுக் கொடுத்துத்தானே அசைலம் வாங்கினோம். எனவே கூலை பற்றி அவதூறு பேச எமக்கு (புலம்பெயர் தமிழர்களுக்கு) என்ன தகுதி இருக்கு. எமக்குத் தேவை ராஜன் கூலின் கருத்துக்களை முறியடிக்கக் கூடிய திட்டம் வகுப்பதும் அவற்றை நடமுறைப்படுத்துவதுமே. முதலில் அதைச் செய்வோம்..! அவரைத் திட்டிக்கொண்டு திரியாமல்..!

அன்று பல இயக்கங்களை ஆரம்பித்தார்கள் தமிழீழம் என்ற ஒரே கொள்கைக்காக என்றா நினைக்கிறீர்கள் அல்ல. தமிழர்களை துண்டாட. இன்று அதனை உருவாக்க திட்டம் தீட்டிக் கொடுத்த இந்திய ஆளும் வர்க்கம் அதற்கான அறுவடையைச் செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது. இந்திய ஆளும் வர்க்கத்தின் கொள்கை முன்னெடுப்புக்குத் தடையாக இருந்த பிரபாகரன் செயலிழக்கச் செய்யப்பட்டதை அடுத்து இந்திய கொள்கை வகுப்பாளர்களின் பேச்சில் மீண்டும் ஒரு தடவை ஊழியக் கூத்தாட த.தே.கூ வில் கூட ஆக்கள் கங்கணம் கட்டி நிற்கிறார்கள். இவர்களா தமக்கென்று கொள்கை வகுத்து அதை இந்தியா ஏற்கச் செய்ய முடியாதவர்களாக.. இந்தியக் கொள்கை வகுப்புக்களை தமிழர்கள் மீது காவி வருபவர்களாகவே செயற்படுகின்றனர். இந்த நிலையில்... தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு விமோசனம்.. எப்படி எங்கிருந்து..???!

புலம்பெயர் தமிழர்களைப் பொறுத்தவரை அவர்கள் காற்றுள்ள போது தூற்றிக் கொள் என்ற வகைக்குள் தமது வாழ்க்கையை வசந்தமாக்கிக் கொள்ள முனைந்தவர்கள். அவர்களிடம் போய்.. போராடு.. பணியாரம் சுடு என்றால்.. எப்படி ஆகும்..??! பேர்தே டே பாட்டி.. பாபி கியு என்றால் ஆகும்..!

If not, why KP is still hiding and, what can a person do in this world hiding from the authorities. Do we need another leadership working from the underground? Do the other learned members of the PTG acknowledge a leadership that is wanted by Interpol.

Secondly, any future Tamil leadership with the LTTE shades, past or present, cannot do anything good to the Tamils. This applies not only to KP but to Rudrakumar and to the other members also.

மறைந்திருந்து பார்க்கும் மர்மம் என்ன என்று சர்வதேசம் கேட்டால்

எங்களுக்கு அதிகாரங்கள் உத்தியோகபூர்வமாய் கிடைத்துவிட்டால் அதற்குபிறகு என்னமும் செய்யலாம்.

ஆனால்.. அதிகாரங்கள் கிடைப்பதற்கு முன்னர் அங்கீகாரம் கிடைப்பதற்கு முன்னர் ஆடு அறுப்பதற்கு முன்னர் எனக்கு பு*** வேணும் பு*** வேணும் என்றுகொண்டு இருந்தால் ஒன்றுமே நடக்கப்போவது இல்லை.

நம்மவர்களுக்கு தந்திரமாக செயற்படுவது எப்படி என்று தெரியாது. நாங்கள் புலிகளாக இருந்ததைவிட நரிகளாக இருந்து இருந்தால் ஈழத்தமிழினம் இப்போது உலகில் எத்தனையோ சாதனைகளை செய்து மிகவும் முன்னேறி எங்கோ போயிருக்கும்.

எங்களுக்காக ஆயுதம் தூக்கி உயிரைக் கொடுத்து போராடும் புலிகள் இருந்தார்கள். ஆனால்.. எங்களுக்காக அரசியலில் ஈடுபட்ட எங்களுக்காக அரசியலில் ஈடுபடுகின்ற நரிகள் இருக்கவில்லை. எங்களுக்காக இதயசுத்தியுடன் செயற்படுகின்ற அரசியல் நரிகள் இல்லாதது அரசியலில் எங்களுக்கு மிகப்பெரிய ஓர் வெற்றிடம் என்று சொல்லவேண்டும். நாங்கள் ஆயுதம் தரித்த புலிகளை உருவாக்குவதில் கவனம் செலுத்தாது அரசியல் நரிகளை உருவாக்குவதில் கவனம் செலுத்தினால் எதிர்வரும் காலங்களில் எங்கள் இருப்புக்கள் பாதுக்கப்பட மிகவும் உதவியாக இருக்கும்.

மாவீரர்களை, தேசியக்கொடியை எங்கள் நெஞ்சங்களில் வைத்துக்கொள்வோம். ஆனால், வெளியுலகில் எங்களுக்கு என்று அதிகாரங்கள் கைகளில் வரும்வரை அப்பட்டமான ஜனநாயகவாதிகளாக இருக்கவேண்டும்.

மேலே பின்னூட்டலில் ஒரு கருத்து எழுதப்பட்டு இருந்தது. அதில் புறநிலை அரசு என்பதை பெயர்மாற்றம் செய்து தமிழர்களுக்கான மீள்கட்டமைப்பு மற்றும் புனருத்தாரன அமைப்பு என்று உருவாக்கப்படுவதே நல்லது என்று சொல்லப்பட்டு இருக்கின்றது. இது சீர்தூக்கி பார்க்கபடவேண்டிய, சிந்திக்கப்படவேண்டிய ஓர் விடயம்.

இதேபோல் மேலே கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது போல் சுப்பிரமணிய பாரதியார் பாரதிதாசன் எழுதியது போன்ற ஓர் பாடல், மற்றும் தமிழ்த் தேசியத்தை குறிக்கின்ற ஏதாவது பொதுவான சின்னங்களை தற்காலிகமாக இந்த அமைப்பிற்கு கீதமாகவும், கொடியாகவும் உருவாக்குவதே சாணக்கியமான முறையில் நாங்கள் உலக அரங்கில் பிச்சை கேட்க உதவும். மீண்டும் புலிச்சின்னமும், ஏ.கே47ம் உள்ள கொடியை தூக்கிக்கொண்டு சர்வதேச அரங்கில் பிச்சைகேட்டுப் போனால் ஒரு நாயும் ஆதரவு தரப்போவது இல்லை. நம்மவர்கள் கூடுகின்ற நிகழ்வுகளில் மட்டும் நாங்கள் மானசீகமாக எங்கள் தேசியக்கொடியையும், தேசியகீதத்தையும் நினைவுகூரலாம்.

சும்மா போறவாற இடமெல்லாம் சர்வதேசத்தில் நாங்கள் மல்லுக்கட்டிக்கொண்டு இருந்தால் நடக்கப்போவது ஒன்றும் இல்லை. எங்களுக்கு ஏதாவது காரியம் நடக்கவேணும் என்றால் நாங்கள்தான் மேலிருந்து கீழிறங்கிச் சென்று கையைக் காலைப் பிடித்தாவது எங்கள் அலுவல்களை பார்க்கவேண்டும். வரட்டு கெளரவங்கள், வீராப்பு பேச்சுக்கள் மூலம் ஆக்கபூர்வமாக எதுவுமே செய்யமுடியாது. எங்களுக்காக அல்ல... அங்கு தாயகத்தில் அல்லல்படும் மக்களுக்காக எங்கள் வரட்டு கெளரவங்களை தூக்கி எறிந்துவிட்டு அரசியல் நரிகளாக செயற்பட கற்றுக்கொள்வோம்.

தாயகத்தில் தலைவரை காப்பாற்றுவதற்கு 50,000 சனங்களின் உயிர்கள் காவுகொள்ளப்பட்டது என்று விமர்சனம் தெரிவித்தார்கள். இனி கேபியின் இருப்பையும், வெளிநாடுகளில் தேங்கியுள்ள, முடக்கப்பட்டுள்ள பணவருவாயை காப்பாற்றுவதற்கு புலம்பெயர் நாடுகளில் உள்ள பல இலட்சம் தமிழ் மக்கள் பயன்படுத்தப்பட போகின்றார்கள் என்று சொல்லப்படுவார்கள்.

இங்கு ஒருவருக்கும் இப்படிப் போ அப்படிப் போ எனக்கு பின்னால் வா என்று சொல்வதற்கு உத்தரவு போடுவதற்கு ஓர் தலமை தேவை இல்லை. ஏற்கனவே இலக்கு என்ன என்பது எல்லோர் மனதிலும் தெளிவாக இருக்கின்றது. ஆனால்.. அதை எப்படி அடையலாம் என்பது அதற்கு என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்பது இதுதான் எங்களுக்கு தெரியாது.

இந்த சந்தேகம் ஒருவர் இருவரின் வழிகாட்டுதலின்படி நீங்கமுடியாது. அதற்கு உலகில் ஒவ்வொரு மூலையிலும் வாழ்கின்ற அறிஞர்களின் கருத்துக்கள் சிந்தனைகள் கேட்கப்படவேண்டும். அவற்றின் அடிப்படையில் மாற்றங்கள் செய்யப்பட்டு சரியான பாதை தீர்மானிக்கப்படவேண்டும்.

கேபி, உருத்திரகுமார் எங்களுக்கு தனிப்பட அறிக்கைகள்விட்டு எங்களை ஒன்றிணைப்பதில் தவறு இல்லை. ஆனால்.. உத்தியோகபூர்வ அறிக்கைகள், ஊடகங்களிற்கான அறிவிப்புக்கள் இவர்கள் அல்லாத ஓர் புதிய தலமையின் கீழ் இருந்து வரவேண்டும். இதற்கு தகுதியானவர்கள் இளையோர் மட்டுமே.

எனவே.. பெரிசுகள் இனி கொஞ்சம் பொத்திக்கொண்டு இருக்கலாம் அல்லது அடக்கி வாசிக்கலாம். எதுவித சாயங்களும் பூசப்படாத எதுவித முத்திரைகளும் குத்தப்படாத இளையோர்கள் சர்வதேச அரசியலில் புகுந்து விளையாடுவதே ஆரோக்கியமானது.

இல்லாவிட்டால் பழைய குருடி கதவை திறடி என்று... கேபி என்ற சொல் வர பிறகு இண்டர்போல் என்றும் பாதாள உலகு என்றும் மாபியா கும்பல் என்றும் அபிப்பிராயங்கள் வர ஒட்டுமொத்த தமிழினமும் அவமானப்பட்டுக்கொண்டு இருக்கவேண்டியதுதான்.
