சிறீலங்காவில் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டே சிறீலங்காவின் பயங்கரவாத அரசின், அதன் படைகளின் தமிழர் விரோத செயற்பாடுகளை வெளி உலகுக்குக் கொண்டு வந்த தமிழ் ஊடகவியலாளன் Tissainayagam த்தை விடுவிக்கக் கோரி சர்வதேச மனித உரிமைகள் கண்காணிப்பகம் (HRW) அறிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளது.

அதன் அறிக்கையில் அது சிறீலங்கா அரசு பயங்கரவாதத்துக்கு எதிரான சட்டங்களை துஸ்பிரயோகம் செய்வதாகக் குற்றம் சாட்டி இருப்பதுடன் ஊடகவிலயாளர்களை அச்சுறுத்தி வருவதையும் ஊடக சுதந்திரத்தைப் பறிப்பதையும் சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளது.

சிறீலங்கா அரசால் கைது செய்யப்பட்ட வேறு சில தமிழ் ஊடகவியலாளர்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்ட முன்னுரிமை இந்த ஊடகவியலாளருக்கு தமிழர் சார்ப்பு (குறிப்பாக புலம்பெயர் ஊடகங்கள்) ஊடகங்களால் அளிக்கப்படவில்லை என்பதும் வருந்தத்தக்கது.

Tissainayagam கடந்த மார்ச்சில் இருந்து பல மாதங்களாக பயங்கரவாதத்தை ஊக்கிவிக்கும் வகையில் நடந்து கொண்டதாகக் குற்றம் சாட்டி சிறீலங்காச் சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

இவர் சண்டே ரைம்ஸிலும் கிரமமாக கட்டுரைகளை எழுதி வருபவர். நான் இவரின் கட்டுரைகளை கிரமமாக வாசித்து வருபவன். அவரின் பார்வையில் நீதிக்கான பார்வை அதிகம் இருந்ததை அவதானித்திருக்கிறேன்..!

Human Rights Watch has called on Sri Lanka's government to free prominent Tamil journalist, JS Tissainayagam.

Mr Tissainayagam was arrested in March and charged with inciting violence in articles in his magazine, the North Eastern Monthly, which has been shut.

He has also been accused of aiding terrorist organisations through raising money for the magazine.

The international rights group said Sri Lanka was shamefully using anti-terror laws to silence peaceful critics.

அதிலும் தமிழ் ஊடகவியலாளன் என்றால் , அவன் எதிர் நோக்கும் பிரச்சினைகள் அநேகமானவை .

திசைநாயகம் விரைவில் விடுதலை பெற வேண்டும் .

HRW: Colombo abuses anti-terror laws to muzzle media

Accusing Sri Lanka Government for “shamefully using antiterrorism laws to silence peaceful critics in the media," Brad Adams, Asia director at Human Rights Watch (HRW) said in a press release Monday that, "[t]his is no way for a government that claims to be a rights-respecting democracy to act." HRW demanded Colombo to drop charges and free J.S. Tissainayagam, a prominent Tamil journalist on trial for his writings, and Tamil publisher couple N. Jasiaharan and V.Valarmathy who were also arbitrarily arrested.

Human Rights Watch said that the written passages over which Tissainayagam has been charged reflect mere opinions about the conduct of the armed conflict between the government and the LTTE.

“The rights to freedom of opinion and expression are protected under article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), to which Sri Lanka is a party. Although the covenant allows for certain restrictions on freedom of expression on grounds of national security, the terms of any such restriction must be specific and narrowly tailored to prevent against arbitrariness and to ensure that the internationally recognized human rights of all individuals are protected,” the media release said.

"The government's disregard for the basic rights and well-being of three well-known detainees raises even greater concerns for the hundreds of others detained under the security laws," the HRW media quoted Adams as saying.

ஊடகங்களில் அமைதியான வழிமுறைகள் மூலம் தமது விமர்சனங்களை முன்வைப்பவர்களை மௌனமாக்குவதற்காக அரசு பயங்கரவாதத் தடைச் சட்டத்தைப் பயன்படுத்துவதாக சர்வதேச மனித உரிமை கண்காணிப்பகம் குற்றம் சாட்டியுள்ளது.

பயங்கரவாத தடைச் சட்டத்தின் கீழ் தடுத்து வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள பத்திரிகையாளர் ஜே.எஸ்.திஸநாயகத்தை அரசு உடனடியாக விடுதலை செய்ய வேண்டும் எனவும் சர்வதேச மனித உரிமை கண்காணிப்பகம் வேண்டுகோள் விடுத்துள்ளது.

திஸநாயகம் தனது கட்டுரைகளில் தெரிவித்துள்ள கருத்துக்களிற்காகவே குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

அவர் இலங்கை இராணுவத்திற்கும் விடுதலைப் புலிகளுக்கும் இடையிலான மோதல் குறித்த கருத்தையே தெரிவித்தார்.

மேலும் திஸநாயகம் மற்றும் ஜசிகரன், வளர்மதி ஆகியோரின் பாதுகாப்புக் குறித்தும் மனித உரிமை கண்காணிப்பகம் கவலை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

அரசு இம் மூவரின் அடிப்படை உரிமைகள் குறித்து அரசு அக்கறையற்றிருக்கிறது என்றும், இது தடுத்து வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ஏனைய கைதிகளுக்கு தமது பாதுகாப்புக் குறித்த அச்சத்தை தோற்றுவித்துள்ளதெனவும் சர்வதேச மனித உரிமைக் கண்காணிப்பகத்தின் ஆசிய பசிபிக்கிற்கான இயக்குநர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

இதேவேளை, ஜசிகரனும் வளர்மதியும் அச்சுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளனர் எனவும் மட்டக்களப்பில் அவர்களது குடும்பத்தினர் மிரட்டப்பட்டுள்ளனர் என்றும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

வளர்மதி சர்வதேச சட்டங்களுக்கு முரணாக, தண்டனை விதிக்கப்பட்ட 100 பெண்களுடன் குற்றவாளிகளாகத் தடுத்து வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார் என மனித உரிமைகள் கண்காணிப்பகம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

ஜசிகரனையும் அவரது மனைவியையும் விடுதலை செய்யுமாறும் கண்காணிப்பகம் கோரியுள்ளது.

ஜனநாயகத்தை மதித்து செயற்படுவதாகத் தெரிவிக்கும் அரசு செயற்படவேண்டிய விதம் இதுவே என மனித உரிமைக் கண்காணிப்பகம் சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளது.
