தோழர், அமைச்சர் றோய் படையாட்சிக்கு எமது கண்ணீர் வணக்கம்

தோழர், அமைச்சர் இராதாகிறிஷ்ணா (றோய்) படையாட்சி அவர்களின் மறைவை அறிந்து நாம் கடும் அதிர்ச்சியும் ஆறாத் துயரமும் அடைந்துள்ளோம். அன்னார், மனித மேம்பாட்டுச் செயல்வீரனக விளங்கியதோடு வறியோருக்கும் மிக ஒடுக்கப்பட்டோருக்கும் உதவும் பணிக்குத் தன்னை முழுமையாக அர்ப்பணித்திருந்தார். அன்னாரின் மறைவானது அவரது குடும்பத்தினருக்கும் அவரது மக்களுக்கும் உலகளாவிய மட்டத்தில் அவரின் தூரப்பார்வை, அர்ப்பணிப்பு, கருணையுள்ளம் ஆகியவற்றால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டோருக்கும் உண்மையிலேயே ஒரு பேரிழப்பாகும்.

குடியரசுத் தலைவர் சூமா அவர்கள் மிக அழகாக எடுத்துரைத்தது போன்று, “படையாட்சி அளவிடமுடியாத அற்பணிப்பையும் ஆளுமையையும் பெற்ற ஒருவர். சிறப்புமிக்க ஆபிரிக்காவையும் உலகத்தையும் உருவாக்கும் தன் குறிக்கோளுக்காக வாழ்நாள் முழுவதையும் அர்ப்பணித்துப் புறப்பட்ட பயணத்தில் அவர் தன் தலைவிதியையும் சாவினையும் சந்திக்க நேர்ந்தது மிகவும் கவலை அளிக்கின்றது.”

சிறீலங்காவில் நீதியும் சமத்துவமுமுடைய சமாதானத்திற்கான எமது போராட்டத்திற்குத் தோழர் றோய் அவர்கள் பெரும் ஆதரவாளராக விளங்கினார். ஒரு சிறந்த எதிர்காலத்தைக் கட்டி எழுப்புவதற்கு, தென் ஆபிரிக்காவின் சுதந்திரத்திற்கான போராட்டத்தில் தான் பெற்ற அனுபவங்கள,; விளக்கங்கள் ஆகியன பற்றியும் உண்மை, மீளிணக்கம், பொறுப்புக்கூறுதல் ஆகியவற்றின் முக்கியத்துவம் பற்றியும் எம்முடன் பகிர்ந்துள்ளார்.

அமைச்சர் றோய் படையாட்சி அவர்கள் உலகத் தமிழர் பேரவைக்கு வழங்கிய ஆதரவையிட்டு நாம் உண்மையிலேயே பெருமிதமடைவதோடு அவருக்கு நன்றிக்கடன் உடையவர்களாகவும் உள்ளோம். இந்த ஆண்டின் தொடக்கத்தில் நடைபெற்ற ஆபிரிக்க தேசிய காங்கிரசின் நூற்றாண்டு விழாவிற் கலங்து கொள்வதற்கு எமக்கு அழைப்பு விட்டமையிட்டுத் தனிப் பெருமையடைகின்றோம்.

தோழர் றோய் படையாட்சி அவர்கள் ஒரு தலை சிறந்த மனிதர் மட்டுமல்லாது அவர் ஒரு கடும் உழைப்புடைய சமூக சேவகர், தன்னலமற்ற மனிதாபிமான ஆர்வலர், விடுதலைப் போராளி, வறியோருக்காக பாடுபட்டவர் என்பதையெல்லாமிட்டுப் பெருமையடைதல் அவரது மறைவால் ஆற்றொணாத் துயரில் வாடும் அவர் குடும்பத்தினருக்கு மன ஆறுதலைக் கொடுக்குமென நம்புகின்றோம். உலகத் தமிமர் பேரவை, சிறீலங்கா வாழ் தமிழர்கள், உலகளாவிய தமிழ் மக்கள் ஆகிய அனைவரினதும் போற்றுதற்குரிய நண்பனாக விளங்கிய அன்னாரின் பிரிவு ஈடு செய்ய முடியாதது.

உலகத் தமிழர் பேரவையின் தலைவர் என்ற முறையிலும் அன்னாரின் நண்பன் என்ற முறையிலும் அவரின் ஆன்மா என்றும் சாந்தியடையப் பிரார்த்திக்கின்றேன்.

TGTE Recognizes the contributions of Comrade Padayachee

/EINPresswire.com/ The Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) is deeply saddened to learn of the untimely demise of the affable Minister of Public Service and Administration of South Africa, Comrade Radhakrishna (Roy) Padayachee, in Addis Ababa, where he was leading the South African delegation to the African Peer Review Congress.

Ever the willing and dedicated servant of the people of South Africa, a firm believer in the African destiny, a world citizen, an exemplary stalwart in the struggle for the establishment of a non-racial, gender neutral, compassionate society, and a true friend of Eelam Tamils, the indefatigable Comrade Padayachee is no more. He died in harness as would only have been expected of a tireless and ceaseless activist like him.

Comrade Padayachee cut his teeth as a political activist, as a member of the Natal Indian Congress, a constituent partner of the African National Congress. Ever since becoming the Minister of Public Service and Administration of South Africa, he had ably and eminently projected the image and authority of South Africa in continental and international affairs.

He led the move in forming the Solidarity for Justice and Peace Group which committed to bring about a just political settlement to the national conflict in the island of Sri Lanka. In the waning days of the War of Vanni, he was instrumental in the efforts of the Government of South Africa to bring a ceasefire and negotiated settlement in the armed conflict between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and the Government of Sri Lanka.

At the end of the war, he refocused his efforts to protect the dignity of Tamils of Eelam and for the betterment of their lives. His service to our cause was greatly appreciated and will be sorely missed.

The Tamil freedom movement has appreciated all of the support offered to it by the ANC and comrade Padayachee. We realize that we have lost a valuable ally and a dear friend in his death, but we are proud to recognize that comrade Padayachie died while in the midst of public service.

TGTE recognizes comrade Padayachee's contribution to the Tamil cause and conveys its condolences to his wife Sally Padayachee, his children and other members of the family.

GTF invited to South African state funeral

The UK based Global Tamil Forum (GTF) will be represented at the funeral of top South African politician, Roy Padayachie (62) at the Cricket Stadium in Durban tomorrow (May 9). The GTF is scheduled to be represented by Suren Surendiran, its UK based chief spokesman.

Well informed sources told The Island that Surendiran would address the state funeral of the veteran ANC member on behalf of the Sri Lankan Tamil community. Surendiran has been involved in talks with UN and US officials on behalf of the group established at the conclusion of the conflict in May, 2009 to pursue their right to self determination.

Public Service and Administration Minister Roy Padayachie was found dead in his hotel room in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He was visiting Ethiopia to attend the African Peer Review Mechanism. Padayachie joined the public service and administration ministry in October last year. He was former minister of communication and before that deputy minister of public service and administration.

Germany based GTF leader, Rev. Father S. J. Emmanuel issued a condolence message on behalf of the organization.

GoSL sources alleged that the GTF was one of the frontline organizations pursuing the eelam project, though the LTTE no longer retained a conventional military capability. With a vast network spread in all continents, the GTF was campaigning for an international war crimes inquiry, sources said. Obviously an invitation for a state funeral in South Africa would boost the GTF’s image overseas, sources said, pointing out that it was at the forefront of the anti-Sri Lanka campaign at the 19th sessions of the UNHRC in Geneva in February-March.

The GTF also participated at the centenary celebrations of the ANC several months ago causing a dispute between the GoSL and the SA government.

Sources said that the both GTF and one-time LTTE negotiator, V. Rudrakumaran’s outfit TGTE were competing with each other for international recognition, though the former seemed to be leading the way.
