சிரிய அரசுப் படைகள் சிரிய அரச எதிர்ப்புக் கிளர்ச்சிக்காரர்களுக்கு எதிரான ஒடுக்குமுறை தாக்குதலை தீவிரப்படுத்தி உள்ள நிலையில் அது இரசாயன ஆயுதங்களை கிளர்ச்சிக்காரர்களுக்கு எதிராக பாவித்த ஆதாரம் உள்ளதாக குறிப்பிட்டுள்ள அமெரிக்க அதிபர் ஒபாமா... சிரியா மீது அமெரிக்கா இராணுவ ரீதியில் தலையீடு செய்ய இது வழிவகுக்கும் என்று நேற்று எச்சரித்திருந்தார்.

இன்று இது தொடர்பில்.. சிரிய அரசிற்கு ஆயுதமும் இராணுவ ஆலோசனையும் வழங்கும் ரஷ்சியா வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில் ஒருதலைப்பட்சமான அமெரிக்க இராணுவத் தலையீட்டை நிராகரித்துள்ள அதேவேளை குண்டுகள் மூலம் சனநாயகத்தை நிறவுவதாகச் சொல்லிக் கொண்டு அமெரிக்காவும் அதன் சார்பு மேற்கு நாடுகளும் ஒரு தலைப்பட்சமாக மற்றைய நாடுகளை தாக்குவதை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள முடியாது என்றும் காட்டமாக அறிக்கை விட்டுள்ளது.

இந்த அறிக்கைக்கு முன்னர் ரஷ்சிய வெளிவிவகார அமைச்சர் சீன உயர்மட்ட அதிகாரிகளுடன் பேச்சிலும் கலந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்.

ஈழப்போரில்.. இறுதிக்கட்டத்தில் ரஷ்சிய.. சீன... இந்திய அரசுகளின் பெரும் ஒத்துழைப்போடு விடுதலைப் புலிப் போராளிகள் மீதும் தமிழ் மக்கள் மீதும் உலகில் தடைசெய்யப்பட்ட ஆயுதங்களும் இரசாயன ஆயுதங்களும் சிங்கள அரச படைகளால் பாவிக்கப்பட்ட போது அமெரிக்கா உட்பட மேற்கு நாடுகள் விடுப்புப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தன என்பது இங்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது..!

[size=3][size=4][size=5]Assad’s security forces have spared no one, unleashing warplanes, tanks and artillery in a state rampage against terrified residents in Damascus, Aleppo and other centres. They massacred more than 100 civilians in Houla, many of them children shot at close range. They tortured and raped victims of all ages. They even targeted Syrian Arab Red Crescent staffers. The list of horrors is a long one. Meanwhile, anti-government forces did their share of murder and torture, though on a far lesser scale.[/size][/size][/size]

[size=3][size=4][size=5]What’s needed now is a Security Council order referring these findings to the International Criminal Court for investigation and prosecution. That would add to the pressure on Assad’s crumbling regime to call a halt to the violence, and just might help stave off a sectarian bloodbath if the regime falls. [size=3][size=4][size=5]Until now Russia and China have shielded Assad not only from the threat of UN-sanctioned military intervention, but also from an ICC probe. But with each passing day their stance grows more untenable. Syrian fighter jets screamed over rebel-held Azaz this past week, pounding a poor neighbourhood to dust. The Arab world noticed. Russia and China risk losing all influence in Syria unless Assad goes, and soon. As evidence builds of crimes against humanity, so does the cost of propping up the regime.[/size][/size][/size]

[size=3][size=4][size=5]The case for launching an ICC probe was strengthened this week by the pullout of UN military observers who were there to supervise a peace process that never got off the ground. Nothing now stands between Syria’s warring factions and the people whose lives they have made a living hell, except the prospect of a judicial reckoning.[/size][/size][/size]
